Under the criminal-friendly New York City criminal justice system, not even holding a machete to the neck of a potential victim will keep you in jail.
George Soros must have been beaming on Thursday night as the deranged left-wing professor who reportedly held a machete to a New York Post reporter’s neck was released by a Bronx judge during a court hearing, according to the newspaper.
Shellyne Rodriguez, 45, who first terrorized pro-life students who were tabling at Hunter College earlier this month, confronted the reporter when he went to her home to ask her about that incident — Hunter College did not fire Rodriguez for targeting the students but did boot her for the machete assault.
“Get the f–k away from my door, or I’m gonna chop you up with this machete!” the out-of-control professor shouted from behind her closed door. Seconds later, after the reporter identified himself, Rodriguez barged out put a machete to his neck.
“Get the f–k away from my door! Get the f–k away from my door!” she screamed — Rodriguez would allegedly go on to threaten the reporter and his photographer and kick him in the shin.

Showing up in court with an entourage of supporters, Rodriquez was arraigned on charges of menacing and harassment over the violent confrontation. The judge also issued two orders of protection against Rodriguez for the reporter and photographer she threatened, according to the Post.
Once released, one member of her entourage applauded the judge’s decision before the group visited a nearby Burger King to celebrate, the article noted.
Turns out, Rodriguez is suing the NYPD over an arrest that took place during a George Floyd protest in June 2020, the Post reported. She is the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit and claims the officers abused her and that she suffered nerve damage from the zip-ties used to handcuff her along with 14 other protesters.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
