Maher predicts ‘Ruth Bader Biden’ will be switched out at DNC: ‘He stayed too long at the fair’

Liberal comedian Bill Maher suggested Friday that President Joe Biden should be switched out during the Democrat National Convention.

He offered up the suggestion during a discussion on his HBO show, “Real Time,” about the president’s obvious declining mental faculties.

Listen:

The discussion began with Maher reiterating his belief that Biden is the Ruth Bader Ginsburg of presidential politics. Recall that after Ginsburg died in late 2020, many Democrats wailed that she should have retired from the Supreme Court before then-President Donald Trump assumed office in 2017.

“[O]ur first show back after the strike, six months ago, my first editorial was called Ruth Bader Biden,” Maher said. “I said, he is going to be [the] Ruth Bader Ginsburg of presidential politics. … I think people get that idea. He stayed too long at the fair.”

“And what brought this up — bubbling up this week, as I said, he won’t do the Super Bowl interview, which is not a hard one, mixing up all the world leaders, and then this report that came out,” he added.

As previously reported, one, Biden has declined to sit down for a Super Bowl interview, two, earlier in the week he mixed up several world leaders, and three, special counsel Robert K. Hur’s just-released report said he’s too senile to be prosecuted.

“This was the report about taking classified documents — you’re not supposed to do that. Trump did it, and, of course, it was such a Goofus and Gallant thing with the two of them. Trump was like, they’re mine, I can keep them, I didn’t do anything wrong. Biden was like, okay, you’re right, you got me, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do it,” Maher continued.

“But here’s the — see, the Republicans are brilliant at using this, this is a little bit like the Comey letter, a little like the Starr Report. This is what Robert Hur…says, he said he’s not going to prosecute, because Mr. Biden — he couldn’t convince a jury that Mr. Biden was guilty of a felony that required a mental state of willfulness,” he added.

That’s indeed exactly what Hur concluded.

“[A]t trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Hur’s report reads.

“Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness,” it continues.

Later during the episode of “Real Time,” Maher predicted that the sitting president would only serve one term because Democrats would switch him out during the Democrat National Convention in the summer.

“I guess the question now is, is it too late? And I don’t think it is. Because I still think you can do it at the convention. I don’t — and people have said to me, oh, that’s ridiculous, they’ll look like — they’ll look like nothing,” he said.

“Nobody gives a f-ck what you do at the convention. They’d be thrilled if they did it the day before the election. You could switch him out at the convention,” he added.

During the show, Maher also took some shots at Hur for committing the supposed crime of being totally honest about Biden’s mental state.
