Mamdani, speech in hand, left riding the pine at NYC funeral of US soldier killed in Iranian attack

Gotham’s terrorist-friendly mayor was reportedly left seeming “angry” after receiving second-class treatment among other elected officials at a U.S. Army sergeant’s funeral.

Since moving into Gracie Mansion, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) has repeatedly snubbed religious groups like Catholics and Jews along with various communities like Italians, Irish and Norwegians. Friday, the family of U.S. Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad reportedly took the opportunity to reciprocate, blocking Hizzoner from remarks at the fallen soldier’s funeral.

Though in attendance at the Calvary Assembly of God church in Ozone Park, Queens on Friday, the New York Post detailed that Mamdani “appeared to be reviewing his planned remarks on an iPad” as others spoke, but was never invited to the microphone.

According to a source, “They kept calling names and then he was never called.”

“Then he looked over at his staff, frustrated and seemed angry that he didn’t speak. When he realized his name wasn’t being called, he looked at his staff angrily and then eventually put his tablet away,” added the source.

Among those who did speak were New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), Queens Borough President Donovan Richards (D) and state Sen. Joseph Addabbo Jr. (D).

Rampersad was one of three service members killed in Jordan following a July 17 Iranian attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base.

The other two service members killed were 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan of Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales of Carrollton, Texas. Additionally, U.S. Army Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton of Fayetteville, North Carolina died as a result of a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian attack drone at Erbil Air Base, Iraq.

Shortly after their deaths, President Donald Trump attended their dignified transfers at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, saluting the fallen.

According to a source for the Post, Rampersad’s family is supportive of the president, “The family is more conservative and wanted to limit any political distractions.”

Supporting the report that the mayor intended to speak Friday, and may have even been blindsided by the snub, a statement from his team was identified as “remarks as prepared.”

The muzzle on Mamdani comes as families of 9/11 victims are similarly seeking to bar the Islamist mayor from even attending the 25th-year commemorative events to be held at Ground Zero. Supporting the now more than 60,000 petitioners signed on, conservative actress Patricia Heaton had shared the link with the caption, “Keep it going New Yorkers.”

Concerns listed by the petition include the mayor’s “perceived reluctance” to condemn phrases like “globalize the intifada,” his embrace of 1993 World Trade Center bombing unindicted co-conspirator Siraj Wahhaj and his association with and endorsement of individuals who contend America deserved to be attacked on September 11, 2001.
