Mamdani vows to replace ‘rugged individualism’ with ‘warmth of collectivism,’ audience applauds

New York City voters elected a communist for mayor and, predictably, they got a full dose of communist ideology during Zohran Mamdani’s swearing-in ceremony on Thursday.

Twenty-five years after 9/11, the Big Apple elected a radical left Muslim as mayor, and after Mamdani vowed to bring “the warmth of collectivism” to the city, residents appear to be on the verge of learning the hard way that elections have consequences.

“Many of these people have been betrayed by the established order. But in our administration, their needs will be met,” Mamdani said of New York’s diverse population. “Their hopes and dreams and interests will be reflected transparently in government. They will shape our future.”

“And if for too long these communities have existed as distinct from one another, we will draw this city closer together. We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism,” he pledged. “If our campaign demonstrated that the people of New York yearn for solidarity, then let this government foster it. Because no matter what you eat, what language you speak, how you pray, or where you come from — the words that most define us are the two we all share: New Yorkers.”

After the ceremony, Mamdani set his sights on property owners, speaking on three new housing executive orders he was putting forward, including plans for a rent freeze. Will land seizure be far behind?

“If your landlord does not responsibly steward your home, city government will step in,” the left-wing socialist democrat pledged.

Over the years, when bullets were not an option, flowing oratory has driven millions of people into the slavery of authoritarianism and New Yorkers may soon get a taste of that firsthand.

The pushback to Comrade Mamdani was immediate. Hell, even Meghan McCain got this one right. But Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis set the proper tone when he posted, “The ‘warmth’ of collectivism that always requires coercion and force. How many dead over the past 100 years due to collectivist ideologies?”
