Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson exposed another instance of primary ballots not including the names of challengers to President Joe Biden.
The author and 2024 presidential hopeful took to social media to cry foul over the move by Massachusetts Democrats to protect the president by eliminating the names of his election rivals, calling out the “pattern” as a “flagrant violation” of rules.
“The DNC is at it again…,” Williamson began in a series of posts to X on Wednesday after the Massachusetts Democratic Party chose to only include Biden’s name on the presidential primary ballot.

“Dem Chair Steve Kerrigan’s misplaced attempt at protecting Joe Biden robs Massachusetts Democrats of their voice and choice in the upcoming election,” Williamson wrote. “This action is a flagrant violation of DNC rules and process.”
She further called out Democrats for their “attempt at circumventing democracy” and called on Secretary of State William Galvin, a Democrat, to “protect Massachusetts voters.”
Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, now Massachusetts…
This is a pattern and we cannot let it stand. 4/4

A spokesperson for Galvin told Politico that he “hasn’t made a determination about who would qualify for the ballot as a nationally recognized candidate at this time” as the signature deadline has not yet passed.
Candidates wishing to be added to the ballot must either submit 2,500 signatures by Friday or, if their party does not add their names, they can look to the secretary of state to add those “recognized by the national media.”
“We were going through the process as set by the state party and the DNC, and it has only been in the last 48 hours that we learned of the chair’s decision to do this. So we were sort of strung along until the last minute,” a representative for Williamson’s campaign told Politico which noted the person was “granted anonymity to discuss campaign strategy.”
“Where is democracy in the Democratic Party in the great United States of America?” asked Simon Ateba, with Today News Africa.
“Where is ‘Democracy is at stake and we must save it’? Where is all the talk about Trump being the one trying to end America’s democracy?” he questioned in a post reacting to Williamson’s comments.

Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) who is also running against Biden cried foul over the Florida Democratic Party’s decision to exclude all other candidates except Biden from the state’s ballot. Party officials named Biden and effectively declared him the winner since state election laws say an uncontested race will not appear on the state’s primary ballot, according to The Washington Post.
