The creeping return of COVID hysteria and the mask mandates that are slowly popping up has led some GOP lawmakers to get ahead of the game by crafting legislation to block federal decrees to put the stifling face coverings back on, and that’s what Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) just did.
On Friday, the fiery Georgia conservative introduced her “Freedom to Breathe Act” in the House of Representatives, the companion to the just-defeated Senate bill by Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) that was shot down by Democrats the day before.
“I just introduced the companion bill to @JDVance1’s Freedom to Breathe Act in the Senate to ban federal mask mandates,” the congresswoman announced on X, previously known as Twitter. “We cannot allow our country to be sucked back into the COVID hysteria that ushered in unscientific and nonsensical health mandates like blanket masking policies.”

“Today, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced the Freedom to Breathe Act, the companion to Senator J.D. Vance’s bill in the Senate, to prohibit the federal government from reimposing ineffective and draconian mask mandates on American travelers and students. America’s so-called “public health experts” pushed mask mandates on Americans knowing they didn’t work,” read a statement posted to Rep. Greene’s website.
“Dr. Fauci privately recommended not wearing a mask to his close friends, admitting they weren’t effective, yet he provided nationwide public health guidance stating Americans be required to mask in nearly all social settings, including while on public transit and in schools,” she said. “Even Joe Biden himself declared the pandemic is over! We cannot allow our country to be sucked back into the COVID hysteria that ushered in unscientific and nonsensical health mandates like blanket masking policies.”
It remains to be seen how MTG’s bill will be received in the House after Vance’s effort was torpedoed by climate cult zealot Senator Ed Markey (D-Mass.) who raged against the bill that protects the rights of Americans from unelected federal health bureaucrats like the now-retired Fauci and the tyranny of government officials in Washington, D.C.

“We must protect the freedom for communities to have every public health tool available, if it’s needed in the opinion of the public health officials in that community, in that state. They should be the ones making the decision at the local level, looking at the dangers to their population,” said Senator Markey, a certified mask fanatic who, according to some X users who circulated a picture of his office, may have already imposed his own face diaper requirements.
