Entrepreneur Mark Cuban is wondering what the Democratic Party has to offer other than opposition to President Donald Trump.
The collapse of the Democrats since Trump’s reelection in 2024 has revealed a lot about the party’s priorities. After having their platform flatly rejected by voters, members of the party have been effectively stripped of their political identity. Rather than reassessing and bringing their ideals back into line with the American people, Democrats have become the party of “Trump sucks,” says Cuban.

Speaking to the Pod Save America podcast, Cuban lamented the lack of direction from the party leadership.
“It’s just ‘Trump sucks.’ That’s the underlying thought of everything the Democrats do. ‘Trump sucks.’ Trump says the sky is blue. ‘Trump sucks.’ That’s not the way to win! It’s just not! Because it’s not about Trump — it’s about the people of the United States of America — and what’s good for them! And how do you get them to a place where they’re in a better position and it’s less stressful for them,” he explained.
The Shark Tank co-host also argued that Democrats should be trying to figure out how to make their issues matter to the American people “in the immediate.”
“I just tried to make it pertain to people’s lives in the immediate,” he said, discussing his strategy as a surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign. “That’s what Trump does better than anybody. That’s what the Democrats suck at.”
“Why do you think we suck at it?” asked host Dan Pfeiffer.
“Democrats want to think. They want to engage. They want to have conversations. They want to feel smart. They want to look smart. They go to college. These are college graduates. That’s what college graduates do. Everything’s like a dorm room discussion. And I think that’s a big difference. Most people just want to live their lives and hope things get better,” Cuban posited.
