Mark Kelly’s latest Trump scare story isn’t going according to plan

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona, tried to fearmonger about voter intimidation, but it’s not exactly going how he thought it would.

With reports that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will be at polling places, Democrats are working overtime to stoke fear of President Donald Trump trying to “intimidate voters.” Kelly posted about the situation Tuesday, revealing that he introduced legislation “to make sure Trump can’t get around that.”

Look:

“The idea that a president would send troops to polling places to intimidate voters is un-American and illegal. I introduced legislation to make sure Trump can’t get around that,” the senator wrote.

Notice his convenient use of “troops” rather than “federal agents,” which would be more accurate but arguably less scary?
