Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona, tried to fearmonger about voter intimidation, but it’s not exactly going how he thought it would.
With reports that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will be at polling places, Democrats are working overtime to stoke fear of President Donald Trump trying to “intimidate voters.” Kelly posted about the situation Tuesday, revealing that he introduced legislation “to make sure Trump can’t get around that.”
Look:
The idea that a president would send troops to polling places to intimidate voters is un-American and illegal. I introduced legislation to make sure Trump can’t get around that.

Notice his convenient use of “troops” rather than “federal agents,” which would be more accurate but arguably less scary?
X users had quite a bit to say:
American citizens going to vote are not intimidated by law enforcement.
“Voters” here is of course code for illegal aliens

Fact Check: ❌@ICEgov are not ‘troops’- and the only people who would be intimidated by ICR at polling places would be illegal aliens who are trying to vote… https://t.co/QHL3a1p738

Troops at polling places would not intimidate me. I’m a citizen and registered voter.
I would high-five them and say Thanks!
Only people committing election fraud would be concerned. https://t.co/6G4ff38oaT

The only people that would be intimidated are illegals and felons who BY LAW are not allowed to vote. Sounds smart to me. We want fair elections. https://t.co/hhjHgTE7UV
