A Maryland police officer has been suspended for kissing a woman while on duty and then climbing into the backseat of his cruiser with her.
Francesco Marlett, an officer with the Prince George’s County Police Department, was caught on a bystander’s camera kissing a woman in a video that has since gone uber viral on TikTok and other social media networks.
The video was recorded by Nelson Ochoa, who told local station NBC4/WRC-TV that he was at Southlawn Park in Oxon Hill on Labor Day relaxing when first Marlett pulled up in his cruiser, and then shortly thereafter a woman pulled up in her car.
“As soon as I started recording, a car pulled up and a young lady came out,” he recalled.

Ochoa recorded the pair then embracing, kissing, and subsequently jumping into the backseat of the cruiser together.
“We couldn’t believe what we were seeing, and what really made us go, wow, this is crazy, is when the car started rocking a little bit to the left and right. That’s when we were, like, this is crazy. In broad daylight with kids around,” he said.
After an estimated 35 to 40 minutes, the pair then reportedly exited the cruiser and drove away in different directions, after which Ochoa posted the video to TikTok and it quickly blew up, spreading to every corner of the internet.
Upon learning of the video, the Prince George’s County Police Department launched an investigation and also suspended Marlett.
“PGPD Executive Command is aware of a video circulating on social media with one of our officers. As soon as we became aware earlier today, we opened an investigation to determine the circumstances. Additional information will be released once investigated and confirmed,” the department said in a statement.

This is reportedly Marlett’s third suspension. The first suspension occurred in 2016 when he was indicted on child abuse and assault after he “spanked his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son, causing him to fall unconscious,” as reported by WRC.
“Prosecutors say that on Dec. 27 [of 2015], Marlett was watching his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son while she was making dinner. The child soiled the bed and Marlett began to spank him, causing the toddler to hit his head against the wall and lose consciousness,” the station reported in May of 2016.
“Marlett was giving the boy CPR when his mother entered the room and saw what was happening, according to prosecutors. The child was taken to Children’s National Medical Center, where he was treated for a concussion and a bruise above his eye,” according to the station.
The charges were reportedly eventually dropped for reasons that remain unclear.
Marlett got in trouble again this past May when he was accused of domestic violence. However, he returned to work in June. The aftermath of this case remains unclear.
Returning to the present, it turns out Marlett is married. Moreover, his wife, Paula Marlett, has released a snippy statement on Facebook about what happened.
“Thank you everyone. Yes this is a very tough time for me and my kids. As embarrassing and painful as this is please check in on us. We need the support the love and most of all the respect from the community and our families. Yes I know what’s been going on. No, I am not updating anyone on this situation after today,” she wrote.
“Virginias husband left her ass a long time ago bc she cheated so she and my husband decided to do this behind my back for years. I’m not seeking anyone else’s input, I don’t need anyone’s opinion. My life is my life. I will make decisions according. I Love you all. Except for you Virginia you can rot in hell b—h. ↪️Virginia Pinto,” she added.
