Mayor Frey wolfs down ‘Somali slop’ to spite Trump but the look on his face is worth 1000 words

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has set new standards when it comes to pandering to the Somali demographic, and a video of him chowing down on a plate of the African nation’s traditional fare has gone viral on social media.

The far-left Democrat has taken great issue with President Donald J. Trump’s recent criticism of his city’s Somali community and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) as “garbage,” and he apparently thought that devouring the foreign grub was a way to spite the leader of the free world. And maybe it would have been if his facial expression didn’t look like he was wolfing down something that dripped out of a dumpster.

In the short video that blew up X on Friday, the wimpy mayor is seen sitting at a table in a local restaurant and stuffing his face with the concoction, which greatly pleased his fellow diners while Somali music plays, and Frey has the appearance of a man battling the urge to throw up.

Frey may have pretended to enjoy the dish, but the look on his face was worth 1,000 words as the recently reelected mayor served up food for ridicule, delighting X users who piled on with relish.

Last month, Frey was reelected to a third term at least partly due to his exploiting clan feuds to best his Somali-American opponent, a winning strategy as masterful as it was cynical.

As a massive Somali fraud scandal involving a pandemic-era relief program and the theft of more than a billion dollars in funds intended to feed hungry children is making headlines, Trump has had strong words for the state, which he called “a hub of fraudulent money laundering activity” before later telling reporters that he wants the foreign ingrates out.

“They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country, I’ll be honest with you, ok,” Trump said at the end of a televised Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. “Some will say that’s not ‘politically correct. I don’t care, I don’t want them in our country. Their country is no good for a reason.”

“Their country stinks and we don’t want them in our country,” he said, adding, “I can say that about other countries too…”

Frey reacted with great indignation, defending his ungrateful constituents.

“Minneapolis is proud to be home to the largest Somali community in the country,” he said. “They are our neighbors, our friends, and our family – and they are welcome in our city. Nothing Donald Trump does will ever change that.”

“Well then, he’s a fool… I wouldn’t be proud to have the largest Somalian — Look at their nation. Look how bad their nation is. It’s not even a nation — it’s just a people walking around killing each other,” Trump told reporters when asked about Frey’s remarks.
