While he still isn’t officially Speaker of the House yet, Rep. Kevin McCarthy has big plans once his party assumes its governing majority early next year and two of his early moves will be bouncing a duo of Nancy Pelosi’s top lieutenants from their committee roles.
On Sunday, McCarthy appeared on Fox News where he discussed with “Sunday Morning Futures” anchor Maria Bartiromo the impending ouster of his fellow California lawmakers, Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from their positions on the powerful House Intelligence Committee, promising that there will be addition by subtraction.
“What are you going to do in terms of these Democrats that you have on such important committees?” You’ve talked in the past about removing Ilhan Omar. You’ve talked about removing Adam Schiff, about Eric Swalwell. Will you deliver?” Bartiromo asked, referring to McCarthy’s pledge earlier this year to remove the three Democrats from their committees.

“Yes, I will,” he said. “I’ll keep that promise. And one thing I said from the very beginning, Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance in the secrets to America? So I will not allow him to be on intel.”
You have Adam Schiff who had lied to the American public time and again,” he said. “We will not allow him to be on the Intel Committee either.”
Swalwell gained notoriety after it was revealed that he had a relationship – and possibly pillow talk – with Chinese espionage agent Christine Fang aka Fang Fang and, despite the clear threat to national security that his poor judgment showed, he faced zero accountability and was allowed by Nancy Pelosi to retain his spot on the House Intelligence Committee despite the implications of his dalliance with a known spy of the communist government in Beijing.
As for Shiff, his conspiracy-mongering and lies about the hoax that former President Donald J. Trump was in cahoots with the Kremlin as well as his brazen abuses of power clearly show that he should not be allowed to hold a position of such influence and importance.
And you look at, Congresswoman Omar,” he said of the ethically challenged, Jew-hating Minnesota ‘Squad’ member, “her anti-Semitic comments that have gone forward, we’re not going to allow her to be on Foreign Affairs.”
On Saturday, during his speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s Annual Conference in Las Vegas, the likely future speaker reiterated his promise to jettison Omar from the Foreign Affairs committee.
Last year, I promised that when I became Speaker, I would remove Rep. Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee based on her repeated anti-semitic and anti-American remarks.

On Sunday, McCarthy told Bartiromo, We’re also gonna stand up to what’s happening not just in the halls of Congress but what’s happening in our higher education institutions, the ant-Semitism that’s going on on these campuses and others, we will investigate that as well and stop this to make sure that America does have the freedoms that we said we would keep and we will stand up to it as we move forward.”
Dumping Omar, Swalwell and Schiff from their committees is a good start but many feel there are many others who also need to be exiled to the back benches.
