Meanwhile, on MSNBC: Florida called ‘DeSantistan,’ DeSantis pegged the next ‘Grand Wizard of the GOP, ‘

An MSNBC guest called Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis the “next grand wizard of the GOP” for doing virtually the exact same thing that President Joe Biden is doing and predicted that New York will soon start encountering “refugees from Florida seeking freedom.”

As previously reported, the governor has been using his power to force companies into political compliance.

For instance, he eliminated Disney’s special tax status after the company lobbied against his Parental Rights in Education bill, which prevents teachers from speaking about sexual matters to students in 3rd grade and younger.

More recently, he vetoed funding for a sports facility for the Tampa Bay Rays which many believed was because of the team’s support for gun control, though the governor made no such connection.

Speaking on MSNBC this Friday about these moves, two guests told hatemongering host Joy Reid that they reek of totalitarianism and evil.

“Florida, I don’t think, is a democracy anymore. I think Florida is truly an authoritarian state modeled off of Hungary,” guest Fernand Amandi, who’s previously described DeSantis as a “wannabe dictator,” claimed.

Reid’s second guest, far-leftist Dean Obeidallah, concurred.

“We’re going to be seeing refugees from Florida seeking freedom coming to New York. … Look, they’re making it DeSantistan. It’s going to be the worst Disney ride ever where he runs it. He’s banning books, banning black history, banning saying the word ‘gay, ‘banning hormone therapy for transgender teens. … it’s cruelty,” he said.

“It’s the idea like Trump, let’s prey on those who are vulnerable instead of helping them. And the base, which talks about being pro-life, haha, they don’t care about the sanctity of life, they don’t care about children, they don’t care about people in need,” he claimed. “So look, I’m worried. I look at Florida. I look at Ron DeSantis being groomed to be the next grand wizard of the GOP on a national level. And we should all be alarmed.”

To be clear, DeSantis is not banning the word “gay” or banning black history. He has, however, banned teens from taking potentially irreversible puberty blockers. He’s also banned books that teach racial essentialism.

Regarding the ban on puberty blockers, he’s based his decision on the numerous cases of adults who transitioned as teens but later came to regret their decision.

Also, in regard to “refugees,” the data shows that in reality, New York refugees are fleeing to Florida — and they’re doing so in droves.

Missing from Obeidallah’s remarks was any recognition that the Biden administration has been doing virtually the exact same thing on the national level, albeit with some key differences.

As reported last week, the Biden administration has decided to not provide federal funding for school lunch programs to schools that refuse to implement its highly controversial transgender policies.

Specifically, schools that refuse to allow so-called “transgender” students to use the restroom, locker room and shower facility of their choice will lose their Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) funding.

“FNS funding supports food security programs for the poor such as federally subsidized school lunches and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program, also known as food stamps,” according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

And so poor children will be denied food assistance if schools refuse to bend the knee to the Biden administration’s political agenda. FYI, none of DeSantis’ allegedly totalitarian policies will result in poor children going hungry.
