Meanwhile on MSNBC …US detaining illegals same as terrorists taking Americans hostage overseas

Leftist love for an alleged human trafficker had MSNBC’s Michael Steele comparing deportations to Americans being held captive by terrorists.

It’s been said that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and time out of the news cycle for Salvadoran national Kilmar Abrego Garcia offered a chance for a new extreme in coverage of corporate media’s favorite “Maryland man.”

Joined in studio by Maryland Rep. Glenn Ivey (D) after the latest international PR stunt connected to the deported illegal alien described by the White House as an MS-13 gang member, Steele compared the deportation to the actions of a “rogue group in the Middle East.”

“How is this different from when [Russian President Vladimir] Putin grabs a journalist or some rogue group in the Middle East grabs an American, and we’re sitting here fighting to try to get them back,” expressed the former chair of the Republican National Committee.

“Our own government did this. Our own government snatched him up and put him in harm’s way, and now refuses to do what it must do, and should do, to get him back home,” continued Steele as the social media account Western Lensman highlighted, “This is just deranged.”

During the segment, MSNBC’s Alicia Menendez maintained that Abrego Garcia was a “mistakenly deported Maryland man,” before introducing Ivey, who argued he has “the right” to be granted entry into a prison in a foreign nation.

As was the case with Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D), the congressman was treating the Salvadoran national as though the man were a constituent of his, and shared on social media, “I traveled to El Salvador to conduct a wellness check on my constituent, Kilmar Ábrego Garcia. I kept my word, but when I arrived, I was denied access to see him. Kilmar deserves due process and his rightful day in court. We need to bring him home. I won’t stop until we do.”

Worth noting, the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) submitted a letter to the Senate Ethics Committee demanding an ethics probe of Van Hollen, arguing that, considering Abrego Garcia is considered to be a member of a foreign terrorist organization by the administration, the senator’s trip was a violation of the Logan Act.

“Mr. Abrego-Garcia is essentially an enemy combatant in the ongoing invasion of the United States by transnational gangs,” wrote AAF President Thomas Jones. “Despite the overwhelming evidence, Senator Van Hollen decided that he would use Senate funds to fly to El Salvador and advocate for an enemy of the United States.”

Neither Steele’s rhetoric nor Ivey’s won any fans among those calling for a restoration of law and order in the country. While some called out Abrego Garcia’s own record, others called out that of the Democratic Party during then-President Joe Biden’s administration, as access was denied to visit “actual American citizens being held for months without trial by the Biden regime,” in regard to J6 defendants.
