Media mocks unusually somber 8 minutes of Trump rally calling it ‘eerie silence’ from a ‘sullen’ crowd

Donald Trump served up a solemn moment complete with melodramatic music during his rally Saturday night in Youngstown, Ohio, that highlighted the many failings of the Biden administration.

The eight-minute monologue was a continuation of what is certain to be a campaign talking point, a nation in decline, should Trump announce another run for the White House as expected.

Touching on a myriad of challenges facing the nation that the liberal media conveniently sweeps under the rug, the monologue was on point, which explains why Mediaite rushed to mock the occasion as “absolutely bizarre,” noting the “eerie silence” from a “sullen” crowd — are Trump supporters supposed to be cheering as the former president catalogs the destruction delivered at the hands of his successor?

“We are a nation in decline,” Trump said. “We are a failing nation. We are a nation that has the highest inflation in 50 years and where the stock market finished the worst first half of the year since 1872. Likewise, we are a nation that has the highest energy costs in its history.”

He cited the Green New Deal, noting that it “will lead to our destruction,” the debacle in Afghanistan, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“It would never have happened with me as commander in chief,” Trump said, warning Taiwan is next.

Trump said we are a nation that has “weaponized law enforcement against the opposing political party” and a nation being led by a president “who is cognitively impaired and in no condition to lead our country.” He said the U.S. is no longer respected in the world.

“We are a nation that in many ways has become a joke,” he continued. “And we are a nation that is hostile to liberty, freedom and faith. We are a nation whose economy is floundering, whose stores are not stocked, whose deliveries are not coming, and whose educational system is ranked at the bottom of every single list.”

“We are a nation whose once revered airports are dirty and crowded and a mess,” Trump added. “Where you sit and wait for hours and then are notified that the plane won’t leave, and they have no idea when it will. A nation where ticket prices are through the roof. They don’t have the pilots to fly the planes. They don’t want or seek qualified air traffic controllers and they don’t know what they are doing.”

As for the crowd, when Trump said America will be a great nation again, they let out an enthusiastic cheer.

“We are a nation that has lost its way, but we are not going to let this continue,” he said. ‘Two years ago, we were a great nation, and we will soon be a great nation again. It was hard working patriots like you who built this country. And it is hard working patriots like you who are going to save our country. We will stand up to the radical left lunatics and RINOs, and we will fight for America like no one has ever fought before.”

Trump concluded by saying the MAGA movement is just beginning — which is what the media fears most.
