In what comes across as a shameless attempt to pander, OpenAI has reportedly hired Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s daughter.
Artificial intelligence has been a divisive topic, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping Big Tech from cozying up to political figures as the midterms approach. Hedging their bets, OpenAI has reportedly hired Jessica Schumer to “oversee policy and partnerships across the Northeast” as part of the company’s global affairs team, according to a report from Axios.
Also hired was Republican policy veteran Caulder Harvill-Childs, who worked under Georgia House Speaker Jon Burns and recently managed Meta’s public policy. He will be in charge of “state-level policy and partnerships across the Southeast.”
Thomas MacLellan will be heading up “OpenAI’s state cyber defense policy,” bringing over two decades of experience to the table, including his work with “Palo Alto Networks, Symantec, FireEye and the National Governors Association.”
The move comes as Congress continues to be paralyzed when it comes to making laws around AI. Top lobbyist Chris Lehane believes that if he can get states to adopt rules first, such as the company’s successful influence on transparency laws in California and New York, then the government will feel encouraged to support similar measures on a federal level.

The story is two daughters at Meta and Amazon while their father sits on the legislation that governs those companies

She’s getting paid to lobby her dad on behalf of her employer? Nice gig

“Public policy official.” What a made up stupid job that literally requires nothing except being the daughter of a senator and getting paid a government bribe. Total joke. This should be illegal.

These are the same people that keep telling us we need more data centers so they can support AI, while installing Flock surveillance everywhere.
The Communist Democrats won’t hesitate to create a police state like the UK that criminalizes any public opposition.

lol. Digging in will definitely helped. Worked so well for Meta, everybody loves that company now and trusts them a ton, right? Worked so well for them they had to change their name, which made people like them even more if I remember correctly
