Melania Trump considered for Nobel Peace Prize

While President Donald Trump continues to receive support for a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, some think his wife should be considered for the honor as well.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna agrees with the nominations of the president by Rwanda, Israel, Gabon, Azerbaijan and Cambodia, among others, after his instrumental role in brokering peace deals with foreign leaders. But the Florida Republican added during a Fox News interview that first lady Melania Trump should also be under consideration for the honor.

On Friday’s edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime,” guest host Charlie Hurt asked Luna if “the Nobel Peace Prize committee people will actually come around” on Trump, adding that “at some point, I guess maybe they need him more than he needs them.”

“Most certainly, if the Nobel Peace Prize committee knows what’s good for them, they’d [do the] right thing and nominate him,” Luna replied.

“But also, I think that Melania Trump might also have a nomination. I think she’s been very instrumental in discussions with Russia, and also I think she’s going to be a key reason why we’re able to broker peace with Ukraine,” the congresswoman, who represents Florida’s 13th congressional district, added.

The president has met separately with Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an effort to bring an end to the war. Earlier this month, the first lady wrote a “peace letter” to Putin, urging him to end the war for the sake of generations of children. The letter was hand-delivered to Putin by President Trump when the two met in Alaska.

“As parents, it is our duty to nurture the next generation’s hope. As leaders, the responsibility to sustain our children extends beyond the comfort of a few. Undeniably, we must strive to paint a dignity-filled world for all—so that every soul may wake to peace, and so that the future itself is perfectly guarded,” the letter stated, in part.

“In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone—you serve humanity itself. Such a bold idea transcends all human division, and you, Mr. Putin, are fit to implement this vision with a stroke of the pen today,” the letter read.

The Nobel Committee is expected to announce the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner on October 10.

Luna’s idea to nominate Melania Trump was met with much support on X.
