Another day, another false rumor about President Donald Trump that gets immediately shut down.
Trump’s crusade against universities that refuse to protect Jewish students from antisemitism on their campuses has not been without critics. As the Jewish community reels from the cold-blooded murder of two Israeli embassy employees, it’s clear that the violence and hate need to be addressed and met with serious consequences.
The fervor with which Trump is attacking this issue has resulted in all kinds of rumors, one of which Nick Clemens, spokesperson for First Lady Melania Trump, shut down. Critics have suggested that the president’s beef has nothing to do with its lack of protection for Jewish students, and is instead rooted in its rejection of his son, Barron Trump.
Barron recently graduated from high school and is now attending New York University’s Stern School of Business. According to the spokesperson, Harvard was not one of the schools the young Trump considered.
“Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied is completely false,” Clemens clarified.
On Monday, Trump made a post on Truth Social threatening to take billions in grant money away from Harvard University.
“I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land. What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!” Trump wrote.
Another post was made later, indicating that the administration is still seeking the foreign student lists from Harvard.
“We are still waiting for the Foreign Student Lists from Harvard so that we can determine, after a ridiculous expenditure of BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, how many radicalized lunatics, troublemakers all, should not be let back into our Country. Harvard is very slow in the presentation of these documents, and probably for good reason! The best thing Harvard has going for it is that they have shopped around and found the absolute best Judge (for them!) – But have no fear, the Government will, in the end, WIN!” the president posted.
