Minnesota student confronts Russian protester — exchange takes an unexpected turn

A video of a nursing student screaming “Go back to your own country, b**ch!” is going viral on social media.

The outburst took place at a Turning Point USA event featuring Riley Gaines on the University of Minnesota campus, when a University of Saint Thomas nursing student couldn’t hold in her disgust.

Watch:

The recipient of her wrath? A man identified by The Daily Mail as “leftwing activist Derek Torstenson.”

“But other footage from the event unearthed by Alpha News showed that Torstenson had been shouting at attendees and waving a sign that said ‘C**T’ before the woman made the comment,” the article notes. “Torstenson, who was adopted from Moscow and reportedly has a ‘strong accent,’ regularly frequents protests in the Twin Cities and is known for his expletive-filled confrontations, the outlet reported.”

The university was made aware of the video and has stated that they are looking into it but will not publicly identify the young woman in accordance with “student privacy laws.”
