Mishandled Biden docs result of frazzled aides feeling ‘weird’ and ‘uneasy’ about Trump: report

CNN is in full damage-control mode, covering for President Biden after a second batch of classified documents was found in his garage and an adjacent room in his Delaware home, going so far as to predictably blame former President Trump in a report for the mishandling of the material.

The leftist propaganda outlet explained how hectic then-Vice President Joe Biden’s last days were in office. It was described as a “whirlwind” as his aides attempted to pack up his office, including securing those pesky classified documents. CNN claimed the aides were “muddled and hurried,” leading to the classified papers being misplaced. It’s interesting that they would provide excuses for Biden while they so viciously went after Trump.

The report goes on to explain how classified documents wound up in an office used by Biden six years ago at a D.C. think tank as well as winding up in the president’s garage, which he asserts was locked.

The Department of Justice is now being forced to at least pretend it’s investigating Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. Attorney General Merrick Garland even appointed a special counsel for the case on Thursday.

CNN is blaming the transition to Trump for the egregious mishandling of classified material.

“Partly to wrap up his policy portfolios, partly to tout his accomplishments, and partly to occupy himself following the death of his son a year earlier, Biden thrust himself into work in a final sprint to mark what then appeared to be the end of a four-decade run at the highest levels of government,” the report contended, once again using the death of Biden’s son as cover.

“Aides scrambled to pack up his workspaces in the West Wing, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, and at his official residence, the Naval Observatory,” the report states.

Once again, CNN is using its standard unnamed sources for its report. One of them allegedly asserted, “It was just a really, really weird time for everyone.”

“The looming arrival of Trump to the White House left many of Obama and Biden’s aides wary of the future and eager to cement many of their accomplishments,” the report continued. CNN’s sources said it was “an uneasy moment.”

“Those competing objectives – to use his office until the final minutes even as it was obliged to shut down – made for a muddled and hurried process that left aides packing boxes of documents and papers late into the night, even as more material kept arriving,” the media outlet justified.

CNN, of course, is covering its backside, noting that it is still an “open question” as to how exactly “a small batch of classified documents ended up in boxes of Biden’s personal effects” and that Biden’s lawyers “have refused to say who, precisely, packed and moved the material.”

“At a minimum, however, the placement of the secret documents alongside ‘personal and political papers’ reveals a records retention process gone awry,” the network remarked.

CNN wants everyone to know how serious Biden and his team were about following the law as well.

“Former aides and others familiar with the process of Biden’s transition out of government service describe a serious effort to follow the law made difficult by an unusually active final stretch,” the outlet claimed.

“’That made the process very disjointed – not because people weren’t capable, but because it wasn’t some straight line out of the White House,’ a source with direct knowledge of the process said. ‘The day-to-day almost accelerated in those final days. Throughout, people were trying to ensure he still had what he needed, while also trying to pack in moments he wasn’t there,'” CNN said spinning the issue for all it is worth, while softening the blow of throwing Biden’s aides under the bus.

“Biden met in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and in Switzerland with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He spoke by phone with the prime minister of Iraq two days before leaving office. And earlier in the week he held calls with the president of Kosovo and the prime minister of Japan,” the report recounted.

Using Biden’s busywork as an excuse, CNN said that “more classified documents continued to arrive” in Biden’s office until the last minute.

“Documents and briefings are always coming in and it didn’t slow down, even when the boxes were being packed,” another source declared.

The central theme for CNN’s report seems to be that it was just so “hectic” it is not surprising that Biden’s team misplaced documents. But no such consideration was ever given to Trump.

The report went on to detail how former President Obama awarded Biden the Medal of Freedom. Then he jetted off to New York for a live appearance on ABC’s “The View” that same day. The then-vice president traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine, made a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and then returned back home for Trump’s inauguration.

“Behind the scenes, a small contingent of aides to Biden were unpacking boxes and setting up a new house on Chain Bridge Road in McLean, Virginia, just outside Washington,” CNN concluded, continuing to go to bat for Biden. The house “served as an office and a gathering point as Biden’s longtime advisers helped chart his new path.”
