You will have no freedom, little one! Nor will your parents, for that matter.

That seems to be the message in Williamsburg, Va., where a mother of five children was reportedly sentenced to 6 months in jail and put on an “abuse” registry for letting her son walk alone to find goose feathers.

Karyann Parkinson and her husband, Dallin, moved from Utah to a gated community in Virginia so that she could attend William and Mary Law School, Yahoo reported.

In June, when Parkinson allowed her five-year-old son, Sam, to walk a short half mile along a sidewalk in a secured community – alone (Gasp!) – she learned that she’s not in Utah anymore.

At the time of the “offense,” Parkinson was pregnant with her fifth child when she and Sam were enjoying time outdoors, collecting feathers. When Sam asked to continue his goose feather hunt on his own while mom made lunch, she let him go.

After all, it was reportedly a short walk to the pond, along a sidewalk separated by 10 feet of grass, and her son knew how to use the crosswalks safely, as she reportedly had seen him do dozens and dozens of times.

How were these dregs of society caught? Not by a Flock camera (this time), but by an anonymous busybody with a moral superiority complex who reported innocent little Sam to the neighborhood security guard.

The security guard took Sam back home, where Parkinson reportedly got an “earful,” and three cop cars, two CPS workers, and a security vehicle showed up.

But it gets more absurd!!!

Parkinson was subsequently charged with neglect of a minor after an investigation by Child Protective Services and was placed on the state’s child abuse registry.

Last week, a judge convicted the mom of a first-degree misdemeanor for delinquency but suspended the jail sentence pending good behavior and compliance with CPS’s rules.

Now, Parkinson will reportedly be in the “abuse and neglect” registry for seven years, and she fears she will no longer be able to volunteer at her children’s schools or finish her law degree.

How can this happen in the Land of the Free? Oh, it’s happening, baby, and X users had plenty to say about it.

But the same state government thinks aborting a child one day before birth is fine, just fine.

If Parkinson, God forbid, were to kill the 8-month child reportedly in her belly at the time, many of her state legislators would have been ok with it. But let little Sammy run free for a minute to pick up feathers — “abuse” and jail time.

INSANE.

The tyrannical actions against Parkinson found some support, however.

A.J. Delgado, who markets herself as a “MAGA original, but now proudly anti-Trump,” declared that a 5-year-old shouldn’t walk “anywhere alone” and questioned why it matters that Sam was in a gated community.

Mary Katharine Ham, who’s “immune to mom-shaming mobs,” responded by explaining Parkinson should not face legal consequences because some people are “less exquisitely risk-averse” than others.

And yet again, the story takes a turn for the worse.

According to several super sleuths, there’s a “whole other level of outrage,” and they pointed to a Virginia law that should have protected Parkinson from this very thing.

There is a whole other level of outrage here. In 2023, VA passed, unanimously, the Reasonable Childhood Independence law which prohibits a finding of neglect and abuse for allowing kids to be independent.

E _ Strobel also cited the law, suspecting “prosecutorial misconduct.”

In 2023, SB1367 passed which explicitly permits exactly this sort of activity…

But why?

According to The Shadowbanned, it’s because Parkinson is a Republican, a Mormon, and worked for the political enemy.

Reading more into it, it’s because she works for a Republican drafting legislation. This appears to be a political hit job, not someone picked at random.

She’s White, Mormon, has five kids, and is a Republican, so will have almost zero support amongst the legal system (and lol…

Of course, “prosecutorial” persecution is speculation at this point. But it would explain the seemingly selective and heavy-handed punishment against a law-abiding and experienced mother.
