MS NOW host Symone Sanders accused the gold medal-winning USA men’s hockey team of being “political props” during the State of the Union.
Since the shocking upset of Team USA over Team Canada and their recognition by President Donald Trump’s administration, leftists have been chomping at the bit to find ways of disparaging them. During MS NOW’s livestream of the State of the Union address, Sanders claimed the team was allowing themselves to “be used as political props.” She effectively faulted them for accepting the administration’s invitation to appear and receive praise for their outstanding performance in Milan.

“No one is against the USA and our athletes, Olympic athletes,” she stated. “They should not be being used as political props, though, and frankly, allowed themselves to be used as political props. And I think that is going to be the question and discussion going forward. It is very clear why the president did this; what is unclear is why the men’s hockey team allowed themselves to be utilized in this particular fashion.”
X users jumped on the clip:
Symone Sanders lets herself be used as a political prop on a daily basis.

If she is not a male gold medal winning hockey player I have been rightfully informed that she needs to just sit back and listen. Be an ally Symone.

We’re in a place right now where there are two groups. One group loves this country and what our forefathers envisioned. The other group is the democrat party.

This was nothing short of a unifying moment but the Dems just couldnt help themselves. Not surprised but shame on them

These guys can take a hockey puck to the teeth at 90 miles per hr . I’m pretty sure no one can force them to do anything

I actually commented to my husband the opposite. I told him it was brilliant to bring them in, for a moment they deserved, and then they left. If they had been in there and seated it could have been seen as political.

It is so far outside their understanding that people can be patriotic Americans and be proud of their country regardless of who is president. That a vocal minority does not dictate to the country when and how to honor a great national victory.
