Joy Reid just can’t help herself when it comes to inserting race into absolutely everything and the upcoming trial of former President Donald J. Trump in a Wahington, D.C. courtroom presided over by a hostile Obama-appointed judge is no exception.
During MSNBC’s coverage of Trump’s traveling to the nation’s capital for his arraignment on Thursday, the “race lady” took great pleasure in pointing out that both of the judges who the former president faced would be women of color, seeming to suggest that their ethnicity could have an effect on how the trial will play out.
Reid was clearly savoring the “demographic reality” of the D.C. courts and suggested that the Trump team’s desire for a change of venues was rooted in racism rather than the reality that there is no way that he will get a fair trial in an area where the overwhelming majority of the jury pool hates his guts.

“Donald Trump has lived you know, 77 rarefied years in which he has not paid taxes, not followed the laws in any appreciable way,” she began. “He came in as president profited… profited off the presidency openly,” not bothering to provide any examples, as if any were needed for the MNSBC viewing audience.
“Hired his son-in-law and his daughter, you know, he sort of flouted the rules, which is one of the reasons that his people like him, you know, that he seems to just sort of bandy the rules about that ordinary Americans have to follow and feel that they don’t apply to him,” Reid continued, without mentioning which specific rules that she was referring to.
“It’s a humbling… it has to be a humbling day for Donald Trump to finally face justice, particularly there, in Washington, D.C. They oppose that venue for many reasons. The demographics of it are interesting,” she said. “This judge named… I believe this magistrate judge is Moxila Upadhyaya…a woman of color.”
“The judge he will be facing in the trial, a Jamaican-born woman of color,” she added, referring to Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, the Obama appointee who has been dubbed as the “toughest punisher” of J6 defendants who had the misfortune of ending up in her courtroom.
“He seems to be facing sort of demographic reality, legal reality and you know, situational reality,” Reid said. “He is not ‘President Trump’ the way that he pretends to be when he’s on the campaign trail, he’s just Donald Trump. And that is what we intend our presidents to become again. After you’re president, you’re not ‘President Trump’ anymore, you’re just Donald Trump and today he is just Donald Trump.”
During his arraignment hearing, Judge Upadhyaya reportedly addressed the former president as “Mr. Trump” in what leftists saw as a gesture of denigration by not using the traditional salutation.
Regardless of racial matters, the deck is completely stacked against Trump with the choice of Judge Chutkan to rule over the kangaroo court in a city where no conservative can expect to receive a fair trial.
