MTG puts GOP colleagues working against Gaetz on notice: ‘Let’s all dance in the sunlight’

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene put her congressional colleagues on notice.

The Georgia Republican came out swinging with a message posted on social media daring them to move forward with releasing a House Ethics Committee report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz. President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Gaetz as the next attorney general and Greene noted that the release of the findings, which many argue would be a violation, could jeopardize the nomination process.

“For my Republican colleagues in the House and Senate, If we are going to release ethics reports and rip apart our own that Trump has appointed, then put it ALL out there for the American people to see,” Greene wrote on Tuesday, baring the ugly truth in her message.

“Yes.. all the ethics reports and claims including the one I filed,” her post continued.

She added, “all your sexual harassment and assault claims that were secretly settled paying off victims with tax payer money” and “the entire Jeffrey Epstein files, tapes, recordings, witness interviews.”

Greene continued her blistering message, writing, “but not just those, there’s more, Epstein wasn’t/isn’t the only asset.”

“If we’re going to dance, let’s all dance in the sunlight. I’ll make sure we do,” she concluded.

The House committee has been investigating Gaetz on allegations that he “engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, accepted improper gifts, dispensed special privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had a personal relationship, and sought to obstruct government investigations of his conduct.”

Gaetz has denied the claims and resigned from his congressional seat representing Florida just ahead of the committee’s planned release of its report and before Trump made his announcement choosing him as attorney general.

“Matt is a deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at the William & Mary College of Law, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans’ badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department.”

As Gaetz has resigned from his seat in Congress, the Ethics Committee no longer has jurisdiction and the battle has been on over whether the final report will – or can – be released.

Greene’s spirited message to lawmakers was met with fired-up responses from social media users.
