Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) reacted to the arraignment of former President Donald J. Trump, an unprecedented escalation that she likened to totalitarian countries where political opponents are persecuted and arrested.
In a Tuesday video shot on the balcony outside of the U.S. Capitol, the Republican lawmaker gave her thoughts on the Biden regime’s power play against the 2024 GOP frontrunner who, in addition to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Espionage Act charges, still faces the potential of at least two more indictments with one being in her home state of Georgia.
“Been thinking a lot about President Trump today,” she said. “He’s about to be arraigned in Miami. It’s completely wrong. It is such an abuse of our justice system, complete weaponization of government and I’m going to do everything I can to defund Jack Smith’s special counsel,” she said, adding that she would be encouraging her fellow Republicans to fight the Democrats’ hijacking of the system.

“In other countries, in foreign countries, we always watch the news where the government in charge will arrest one of their political enemies,” Greene continued. “And that’s been shocking to Americans for years. But now it’s happening in our own country.”
“Today, President Trump is being arraigned on 37 charges having to do with documents that he absolutely, by the Presidential Records Act, has the right to possess,” she said. “But yet, here they are, the Biden administration, arresting really their top political opponent and enemy.”
“This is, this is a communist country. We’ve been taken over. It’s not the America that we all thought that we all had,” Greene said. “We’re not a free country anymore.”
She also talked about the unequal application of justice when it comes to Biden, specifically over the allegations that he and his sexual degenerate, crack-smoking son Hunter were the recipients of $5 million bribes from a foreign national in Ukraine, a country that the administration has funneled tens of billions to in Washington’s proxy war against Russia.
The same FBI that stormed Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in the opening salvo of what would end with Smith’s indictment also tried to cover up the alleged bribes from the Ukrainian gas company exec to the Bidens by redacting details about 17 audio recordings in an FD-1023 form that Congress has been battling with FBI Director Christopher Wray over.
“I just want to point out the fact that today President Trump is being arraigned because he’s winning the 2024 presidential election and the Biden regime is terrified of it,” Greene added in the nearly six-minute video.
The treatment of Trump has indeed been consistent with classical communist regimes which have also used propaganda, control over media, sweeping crackdowns on dissidents, violent street mobs, and show trials to rule in a brutal fashion. All of these are now the “new normal” in America, a land that only remotely resembles the once-proud constitutional republic of the past thanks to Biden and his fellow authoritarian Democrats.
