U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) did not pull punches in responding to recent talk about Donald Trump tapping Republican rival Nikki Haley to serve as his running mate in the general election, should the former president ultimately be the GOP nominee.
Then again, MTG may have a little too much faith in the inhabitants of “Magadonia.”
“MAGA would revolt if Nikki Haley were to even be given an internship in Trump’s next administration,” the GOP lawmaker insisted in a tweet. “She represents the neocon establishment America last wing of the Republican Party that we are absolutely done with. Also, she lied and said she would not run against Trump.”

Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, added plenty of fuel to the fire when it comes to the former governor of South Carolina being a potential Trump running mate during an appearance on Newsmax TV.
“Crazier things have happened,” she told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling. “I don’t know, I would never say never with Donald J. Trump.”
Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who’s on his way out, all but endorsed Haley as Trump’s vice presidential candidate last week, saying she’s the person most able to consolidate the vote.
On the other hand, former Trump aide Steve Bannon said MAGA will tell Trump, “Absolutely no way you can have Nikki Haley anywhere near the White House.”
One thing is certain, Greene’s tweet prompted an interesting mix of opinions… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Donald J. Trump will never pick Nikki Haley for VP.

She’s unworthy of any job in the next Trump Administration. Better people available.

Do you honestly think MAGA is still a movement of principles? 2016 MAGA is dead. 2024 MAGA is a movement of idolatry.

He’s still not going to pick you.

You’d fall in lock step if daddy Trump told you what to do. You did it with McCarthy and you’ll do it again. Stop pretending otherwise.
