Mom put her foot down and the much-anticipated cage fight between Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is no more.
The Twitter owner’s mother Maye Musk, 75, said in a recent tweet that the fight has been “canceled,” telling people “don’t encourage this match.”
“Actually, I canceled the fight. I haven’t told them yet. But I will continue to say the fight is canceled, just in case…,” she said in a tweet shared on Thursday, before adding, “And now the fight has been canceled. Great relief! ”

Clearly worried about her son’s safety, Mrs. Musk responded on Friday with a little less strenuous alternative: “A verbal fight only. Three questions each. The funniest answers win. Who agrees?”

Mother Musk was responding to her billionaire son replying with two “fire” emojis to a video clip of Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White saying Musk and Zuckerberg were dead serious about squaring off inside a cage.
“This would be the biggest fight ever, in the history of the world,” White predicted.

The beat response to Maye Muck’s intervention, perhaps, was seen from an Elon Musk parody account
“MOM. You’re embarrassing me in front of my Twitter friends. I’m going to break Zucks face,” the tweet said.
MOM. You’re embarrassing me in front of my Twitter friends.
I’m going to break Zucks face.

While many agree with Mom here, online polling has it going the other way.
Here’s a sampling of other responses, as seen on Twitter:
I agree!! Elon will most definitely win. He thinks fast and is very funny.

What type of fight

Let them fight, there is nothing unnatural or wrong with physical combat between men.
It will be in a controlled environment.
I understand your concerns I fought over 40 times and my mother was worried about every one.
A lot of good will come from it, plus Elon can win. ❤️

A cage fight between Elon and Zuck would attract a record audience but I don’t see this as good PR or advertising that would sell more EVs. Sorry to play spoiler but I agree with Maye here.

My mom said similar things. My dad always had different ideas.

No fun. I think a far-higher end version of this would be entertaining (with the logos of their respective social media companies on them of course!) pic.twitter.com/qDCRkDQSiP

What would be funnier than having them wearing their fight suits (optional) and telling jokes as ring announcers during holographic AI simulation center ring! pic.twitter.com/1KqrVAM5IF
