Climate Czar John Kerry finds himself in a rare category that includes the likes of U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) — which is not to suggest that Kerry was also caught in a Beijing honey trap and slept with a Chinese spy.
While in Dubai for the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference — yes, it was held in the oil-rich United Arab Emirates — Kerry was discussing U.S. policy on coal power plants when a mysterious noise was heard that sent social media into a frenzy claiming President Biden’s climate envoy engaged in an impromptu display of wind energy.
Much like Swalwell was accused of doing during a live appearance on cable TV, Kerry was accused of passing gas — there is no way to say for certain what prompted the noise, but it was billed as “the fart heard around the world” in the tweet below:

“I find myself getting more and more militant because I do not understand how adults who are in a position of responsibility can be avoiding responsibility for taking away those things that are killing people on a daily basis,” Kerry said, just before the crude sound was heard. “And the reality is that the climate crisis and the health crisis are one and the same.”
Interestingly, CNN’s Becky Anderson, managing editor of CNN Abu Dhabi, was sitting to Kerry’s right and just as the noise was heard she turned her head and raised her hand to her mouth. The other participant on stage, Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency, acted as if nothing had happened.

It was at COP28 that Kerry declared himself a “militant” and all but demanded that NO coal plants be permitted anywhere in the world.
Meanwhile, one social media user suggested that Kerry “should cut down on his greenhouse gases” — after all, cows get plenty of flak for their flatulence.
It seems John Kerry should cut down on his greenhouse gases

Here’s a sampling of some of the jocularity that ensued on X at Kerry’s expense — again, there is no way to confirm that he did pass gas:
Why is she touching her nose?… was the follow up air pollution that bad and immediate?

What an Irony, talking about unhealthy gas emissions while emitting your own gas… pic.twitter.com/MU5cp8GtUc— Ferdinand King Obinna (@pacifik_cruise) December 5, 2023
Somebody else in the comments was saying that he used that fart like a punctuation in his sentence.
How presidential of him

It was his exclamation mark? Lol

@JohnKerry contributing directly to atmospheric carbon emissions, while speaking on the subject

That will affect his carbon footprint.
