Video of Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) catching up on his shuteye during a House Judiciary Committee hearing has gone viral on Twitter where it has garnered much attention from users who have suggested that there is no better example of why term limits are badly needed.
Nadler, the ranking member on the powerful committee is seen dozing in the clip reportedly captured during a hearing on regulatory reform bill edits this week as a speaker drones on, admittedly, not the most exciting of moments but one that should at least have the attention of a highly paid elected member of Congress.
Nadler, who at 75 years old is a young whippersnapper in comparison to some other members of the Democrat cadaver caucus, was easily reelected in November after fending off a primary challenge from now-former congresswoman Carolyn Maloney for the seat in New York’s 12th Congressional District and, with the House flipping to Republican control, the ex-chairman has far less to do these days so its probably not surprising to see him sleeping on the job.

A longtime Big Apple nemesis of former President Donald J. Trump who affectionately nicknamed him “Fat Jerry” back in the days when he was merely a billionaire real estate mogul, Nadler is a repeat offender when it comes to drifting off at work with one of many examples being in 2021 when his GOP House colleague, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) tweeted out video of the morbidly obese leftist who was masked and snoozing away.

Twitter users jumped at the opportunity to jab snoring Nadler with much mockery but also by pointing out that it just may be time to implement term limits to weed out the geriatrics who refuse to leave their seats until they are either six feet under or a hot mess like the nearly 90-year-old Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) who won’t retire even as she is wheeled around the Capitol looking something from a horror movie and so senile that she reportedly doesn’t even realize that she was gone for over two months.
One good reason why we need Term Limits

You gotta give him a break. He had a long morning at the blimp factory being fitted for his suit.

Don’t wake him. He does less harm while sleeping.

Need an age limit for holding office. The halls of Congress look like a retirement community.

He has to run again in 2024 to keep his seat. #TermLimits

To be fair he also soils himself too.

When it comes to embarrassing videos, snoring away his time at work isn’t even the worse, he appeared to have a serious issue during a 2020 press conference with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and fellow Democrats, leading to speculation that he had lost the battle with his bowels.

Another lifelong politician, Nadler has been a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 1992 and could stay there for years to come.
