Narrative fail: Poll shows measly 12 percent found Sydney Sweeney jeans ad offensive

A new poll gets to the heart of the outrage surrounding the Sydney Sweeney American Eagle ad.

According to a recent Economist/YouGov poll, only 12 percent of respondents found the campaign offensive. Meanwhile, 39 percent claimed to find it clever while another 40 percent said they did not feel it was either. A mere eight percent were unsure.

“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,” said the actress in one video. “My jeans are blue.”

Radical leftists took the ad campaign to be a celebration of caucasian genetics, something they have decided is a sin.

Meanwhile, right-leaning lawmakers, including President Donald Trump, have embraced the campaign and Sweeney, who was revealed to be a registered Republican.

“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ‘em Sydney!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Even Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth got in on the conversation, joking about his “great jeans” on X.

“Trump himself garnered 44 percent favorability in this week’s Economist/YouGov poll, with 52 percent of respondents saying they felt unfavorably about the president,” The Hill reported.

X users had a lot to say about the poll:

“Just 12% of voters think the Sydney Sweeney ads promote Nazi propaganda or white supremacy,” wrote Scott Rasmussen. “Only two measured demographic groups are more likely to see it as promoting white Supremacy… government employees and those who talk politics every day. Among those who have seen the ad, 23% believe it promotes white supremacy and 70% think it’s a normal ad.”
