A sympathy-seeking soldier found none on social media where it concerned the consequences for his illegal alien stepfather.

Hysterics, hyperbole and lawfare from the left have merely impeded the ongoing efforts at mass deportation spearheaded by officials from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol across the country. Now, a complicit corporate media was once again pushing a narrative toward amnesty with a sob story about a “betrayed” Staten Island National Guardsman whose stepfather was taken into ICE custody.
Much like the infamous “Maryland Man,” reports from New York news outlets appeared less interested in the facts of the arrest of the 41-year-old man from Mexico and more intent on framing a case for exceptions to the law.
Despite including images of National Guardsman Jesus Olea in his uniform with his surname clearly displayed, outlets made a halfhearted effort at anonymity in identifying the soldier by his first name alone, as he was backed by an activist group at a press conference.
“My stepfather, who has raised me for as long as I can remember and who I consider my true father, was taken into ICE custody while on his way to work,” detailed Olea. “My sister called me crying to tell me what happened. In that moment, I felt shock, anger and disbelief. How could this happen to my father in the same country I proudly serve?”
That sister, a member of the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, according to PIX11, was said to have contacted the Staten Island nonprofit La Colmena, a group committed to “Workers Justice.” La Colmena’s Executive Director, Yesenia Mata, had said during the press conference, “What’s happening at this moment is that ICE is not targeting so-called criminals, ICE is targeting the hard-working mother, the hard-working father.”
The soldier, who swore an oath to defend the Constitution as well as to obey the orders of the president and his superior officers according to law and regulations, went on to voice sympathies for other families of illegal aliens as he said, “There’s other families that are going through this and many families that will go through this. So I just want to know that their voice is also important.”
Proving the left’s interest in leveraging a narrative against efforts at restoring national sovereignty, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) saw fit to elevate Olea’s story and posted on X, “So this is today’s America. A National Guard member who serves with honor now pleading for his father’s freedom. A man with no criminal record, targeted by a cruel and inhumane deportation campaign. The Trump Administration must fix this immediately.”

Meanwhile, reactions on social media were not only critical of the stance taken by the soldier but also decried corporate media for vague reporting, such as describing the unidentified illegal alien as being “undocumented with legal proceedings pending, but he has no criminal record.”
His stepfather “has legal proceedings pending, but has no criminal record.” Why do I feel like there’s more to this story then we are led to believe?.

The father broke the law, and he has had tons of time to remedy the situation… he did not. DEPORT THEM ALL!

His “Step father” NOT his “father” who does have a criminal record! He came her illegally and stayed without permission!

It’s crazy to me how we have to explain borders to adults who own keys

Behind every one of these bleeding heart stories is usually a very valid reason for deportation.
I don’t believe a single one of them.

Well he should have counseled his stepdad to do the right thing.
My service as a Marine doesn’t give me special privileges to break laws or my family.

He should feel betrayed by his stepfather.
