NBC News ridiculed over report that climate change killed off giant ‘King Kong’ apes

The days when NBC News was a serious news organization seem to be long gone and once again, the outlet showed that its primary purpose is the dissemination of left-wing propaganda, this time with a story that the ancestors of the biggest, baddest monkey of all were killed off by global warming.

In the article published on its website this week, the outlet cites an article from the scientific journal “Nature” that the real life version of the gargantuan cinematic ape that has thrilled moviegoers for 90 years perished for being unable to adapt to a new diet when climate change “put its favorite fruits out of reach during the dry season.”

“It did not fall off the Empire State Building,” NBC News posted to X, formerly Twitter. “A giant ape sometimes dubbed the “real King Kong” was driven to extinction by climate change putting their favorite fruits out reach, according to new research.”

NBC News describes the plight of the Gigantopithecus blacki, a huge primate that lived during the Pleistocene age, “standing 10 feet tall and weighing up to 650 pounds,” who is not exactly compatible with the mammoth stature of King Kong but that’s not the point when it comes to selling climate cult propaganda.

The huge herbivore ape went extinct because of its strict diet, according to scientists who shared their findings in the “Nature” article that the outlet based its reporting on.

Gigantopithecus blacki made the “fatal mistake of being reluctant in changing its food preference to find new, more nutritious food,” according to Yingqi Zhang, the lead researcher of the study.

“When environments change, the preferred food by this giant ape became less available. But this giant ape didn’t adapt his dietary preferences. It still relied on his less nutritious food,” Zhang, a Beijing-based paleontologist, told NBC News.

In something that NBC News should be accustomed to given its descent into “clowndom” the ridicule unleashed by X users was blistering.

Not exactly dispelling the suspicions of some observers that there is state-run media in the United States, the Associated Press also ran with the global warming killed the big monkey tale.

“Until now, the reason for the species’ demise had been a mystery since one tooth was found in a Hong Kong apothecary in 1935 by the German Dutch paleontologist Gustav Heinrich Ralph von Koenigswald. It was marketed as a ‘dragon tooth,’” according to NBC News.

And just like that, all of life’s mysteries can be explained away by climate change thanks to the magic of propaganda.
