NBC News unveils inflation tracker after years of inattention, what’s changed?

NBC News has unveiled a new grocery tracker to monitor the prices of essential items such as eggs, bread, and bacon, despite not being moved to action during Joe Biden’s presidency, four years marked by the worst inflation in four decades.

On Monday, the left-wing outlet proudly announced that it would be monitoring grocery prices, asking, “Are President Donald Trump’s policies bringing down grocery bills?” as Democrats and their media allies desperately grapple to find a line of attack on the president that will resonate with the public.

“Follow price trends using the chart below. NBC News is monitoring the average point-of-sale price for eggs, chicken, bread, ground beef, and other common grocery items, along with how much those prices have changed since April 2024,” the outlet stated in its announcement of the belated inflation tracker.

“Trump campaigned heavily on the price of food in 2024, promising that if elected, he would lower costs. But the price of eggs — a frequent stand-in for inflation during the campaign — is still more than $1 more than it was a year ago, and Trump admitted in December that it will be ‘hard” to bring prices down,'” NBC News proclaimed in its latest attempt to manufacture negative “news” about Trump.

X users found the timing of NBC’s sudden concern about grocery prices to be on the fishy side.

NBC’s long overdue inflation tracker is just more of the same gaslighting from an organization that spent four years downplaying the kick in the gut at grocery checkouts while insisting that Biden wasn’t senile and is another prime example why the vast majority of Americans now distrust and despise the rabidly partisan mainstream media that functions as an unofficial propaganda arm of the Democratic Party.
