The Colorado Supreme Court ruling earlier this week to remove Donald Trump from the 2024 primary ballot threatens to open the floodgates as Democrats continue to prove that they will stop at nothing to prevent the former president from being elected a second time — an attack on democracy coming from the very cabal that often claims it’s protecting democracy.
With recent polling showing Trump defeating Biden in a head-to-head matchup, Democrats and their allies in the media are desperate. Look no further than New York, where state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal (D) tweeted in response to the Colorado ruling: “New York is next.”
Hoylman-Sigal joined with four other Democratic state senators to pen a letter earlier this month to the Empire State Board of Elections claiming Trump should be barred from the state ballot due to his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, protest at the U.S. Capitol, according to the New York Post.
“The January 6 insurrection was a violent uprising against the United States that tragically resulted in loss of multiple lives,” the letter said.
“That dark day in our nation’s history was led, facilitated, and encouraged by Trump,” the Democrats said. “The Board must not allow those who participated to run again for office against the mandate of the Constitution.”
Hoylman-Sigal told The Post that “Trump is an insurrectionist and ineligible for the presidency because of his actions on January 6.”
“It’s incumbent on states to enforce Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution and ban Trump from the ballot,” he added.
Much like Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, Democrats believe if you tell a lie often enough it will eventually be perceived as the truth. Trump has not been charged with insurrection, let alone be found guilty and the only “loss of life” directly related to the protest was the death of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, who was killed by a U.S. Capitol Police officer when he opened fire without warning on the unarmed Trump supporter.
New York Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (D) reportedly introduced a bill last week that would amend the state Election Law to remove an insurrectionist from the presidential election ballot.
California is also exploring efforts to scratch Trump from the ballot as a result of the Colorado decision.
Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis sent a letter to California Secretary of State, Dr. Shirley Weber, urging her to explore legal options to remove Trump from California’s 2024 presidential primary ballot.
“This decision is about honoring the rule of law in our country and protecting the fundamental pillars of democracy,” Kounalakis wrote.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said of the Colorado Supreme Court, “Unsurprisingly, the all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump, supporting a Soros-funded, left-wing group’s scheme to interfere in an election on behalf of Crooked Joe Biden by removing President Trump’s name from the ballot and eliminating the rights of Colorado voters to vote for the candidate of their choice.”
Newsweek noted that Trump is facing challenges to his candidacy in a host of other Democrat-run states, including Arizona, Michigan, Maine, Minnesota, and Rhode Island.
“Lawsuits have been filed in several other states: Alaska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Vermont and Virginia,” the outlet further reported.
To date, Democrats twice impeached Trump, indicted him four times, and oversaw the unprecedented raid of a former president’s home all in the quest to destroy him and he is STILL polling better than the feeble, geriatric 81-year-old Democratic president. The effort to remove him as an option for voters, perhaps the most direct assault on our system of government in American history, proves that few options are off the table.
