New Zealand PM who wrecked her country during COVID flees to Australia

A post political move by a world leader among the most zealous proponents of The Science™ found critics slamming, “How very leftist.”

After years where “near totalitarianism” had been exercised in New Zealand, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern resigned in early 2023, weeks after a hot-mic moment caught her referring to an opposition party leader as an “arrogant prick.”

Now, little more than two years after her party had been ousted from six years of control that included climbing crime and inflation, authoritarian lockdowns and encouragement for neighbors to snitch on each other to the police if spotted outside during COVID, Ardern was reportedly jumping ship from the sinking nation she used to captain, seeking greener pastures down under.

“The 45-year-old’s office confirmed last week that she and her family have relocated to Sydney, after they were spotted house-hunting in the city’s affluent northern beaches,” CNN reported after detailing that, according to demographers, “Over the past four years, the number of New Zealanders aged 30-50 emigrating has more than doubled — from 18,000 to 43,000 — fueled by rising living costs and a weakening job market.”

The total measured over a year ending in Nov. 2025 was about 122,000 as “mid-lifers, like Ardern, are now the fastest-growing segment, with retirees increasingly joining them,” compared to previous years where young people were known for having an overseas experience or “Big OE” for work or simple travel abroad.

As had been reported in Oct. 2023, voters had rejected Ardern’s Labour Party as the National Party earned 40% for the center-right over 25% for the leftists. The number had diminished from 50% for Labour in the previous election.

The troubles recognized at the polls were reaffirmed in CNN’s report that detailed, “New Zealand has been plagued by a stagnant economy for two years, with negative growth in the year to September 2025 and unemployment hitting a decade high in recent months. Its housing market has also crashed … In some cities, dwindling government and public-sector jobs have forced many who could previously rely on high, stable incomes to make tough decisions.”

“Kiwis are not moving for a few years of better pay anymore,” NZRelo head Mark Berger told the outlet as some 670,000 New Zealanders had relocated to Australia. “They’re moving permanently to rebuild their lives … driven by hope for stability, opportunity and fairness.”

The decision by Ardern to pick up and leave her native land after playing her part in driving it toward becoming a smoldering heap after 15 years in elected office proved less surprising and more par for the course for radicals who impose their agendas on others.

As one social media user put it, “She destroyed both the economy and social fabric of our country … put in place laws and policies effectively pitting one group of New Zealanders against another and stirring up racial disharmony,” while the account Gain of Fauci warned, “Insane authoritarian horse-faced psycho Jacinda Ardern just left New Zealand to move to Australia. Watch out Aussies!!”
