Newsom deploys supplemental law enforcement across state, stammers when confronted on flip-flop

California Governor Gavin Newsom seems to have had a sudden change of heart about violent crime, deploying law enforcement in his state to crack down on criminals after weeks of attacking President Donald J. Trump for doing the same thing.

On Thursday, the 2028 Democrat presidential contender announced an increased presence by California Highway Patrol (CHP) crime suppression teams in major cities across the Golden State despite his simultaneous insistence that crime has gone down, a party talking point that has been endlessly repeated despite ample evidence to the contrary.

“When the state and local communities work together strategically, public safety improves. While the Trump Administration undermines cities, California is partnering with them — and delivering real results. With these new deployments, we’re doubling down on these partnerships to build on progress and keep driving crime down,” Newsom said in a statement.

The governor’s move seems to be a sign that Democrats are getting clobbered on the issue and are now correctly being identified as the party of crime over their resistance to Trump’s bold idea to deploy the National Guard to bolster law enforcement in Washington, D.C., a city that has been plagued by murder, shootings, assault, rape, and carjackings.

Newsom was caught off guard when a reporter confronted him over his mixed messaging on crime, stammering through his answer and ending his press conference.

Newsom’s flip-flop comes after the ace cringe artists on his social media team were ridiculed over a series of grossly misleading posts about crime in states with Republican governors, leaving out the very important detail that the cities that were highlighted have Democrat mayors.

I know Gavin very well,” Trump said during an Oval Office news conference last week. “He’s an incompetent guy with a good line of bullsh*t, and he doesn’t get the job done.”
