Newsweek beclowns itself by accusing GOP of ‘pouncing’ on Pelosi’s arrest

There are very few things as dangerous as driving drunk, and when the husband of arguably the highest-profile congresswoman is arrested for driving under the influence, it’s a big story.

Unless you’re Newsweek, of course. Then the REAL scoop is how Republicans are “pouncing” on the arrest.

On Sunday, the outlet tweeted a piece titled, “MAGA Republicans Pounce After Nancy Pelosi’s Husband Arrested for DUI.” The article included scandalous hot takes by the likes of Rep. Lauren Boebert, R – Colorado, who reminded people to “call an Uber” when they are too drunk to drive.

Author Nick Adams simply tweeted “Paul Pelosi is a thug,” which is one of the politest ways one could describe a person selfish enough to put other drivers in danger with their behavior.

Brigitte Gabriel wondered how much time Mr. Pelosi would be spending in the slammer, noting that if a Trump had been arrested for DUI, it would be the “number 1 story.”

It didn’t take long for Newsweek to get absolutely pounded on social media for mocking a legitimately concerned response:
