NFL team reportedly punts staffer who mocked Charlie Kirk’s murder

The NFL’s Carolina Panthers have reportedly fired a staffer who took to social media to mock the cold-blooded murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Almost as sad as the assassination of the charismatic founder of the student activist group Turning Point USA  during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday has been the reaction of many on the left, who openly declare Kirk was on the receiving end of hatred because he peddled in hate — the left’s version of “hate” being Kirk’s pro-life, Christian beliefs that reject wokeism and the insanity of transgenderism.

Hours after Kirk was shot, Charlie Rock, a member of the Panthers’ communications department, posted on Instagram: “Why are yall sad? Your man said it was worth it …”

He included a photo of Kirk and a reference to the Wu-Tang Clan song “Protect Ya Neck” in the post:

Rock was fired early Thursday by the Panthers for the “insensitive post, according to Charlotte Observer sports journalist Scott Fowler, who cited a source familiar with the organization’s decision:

The NFL team addressed the controversy to say they “have accordingly addressed” the matter, without offering any further details.

“The views expressed by our employees are their own and do not represent those of the Carolina Panthers. We do not condone violence of any kind. We are taking this matter very seriously and have accordingly addressed it with the individual,” the Panthers said in a statement.

Rock was far from alone in his reaction to Kirk’s assassination, and he was not the only person to lose their job.

MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd was shockingly fired by the left-wing network for saying on-air in relation to Kirk’s shooting that “hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” as the Observer noted.
