In her desperation to claw her way to a win in the New Hampshire primary, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley served up a gift to the Democrats with her latest attack on frontrunner Donald J. Trump.
The former South Carolina governor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations has had a rough week and when Trump slipped up and mixed her name up with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Haley pounced, likely not expecting that her remarks would be featured in an ad for the Biden-Harris campaign.

“We see that Biden has changed so much in two years,” Haley said at an event in New Hampshire. “But last night, Trump is at a rally and he’s going on and on mentioning me multiple times as to why I didn’t take security during the Capitol riots. Why didn’t I handle Jan. 6 better? I wasn’t even in D.C. on Jan. 6. I wasn’t in office then.”
“They’re saying he got confused, that he was talking about something else, he’s talking about Nancy Pelosi,” Haley said. “He mentioned me multiple times in that scenario. The concern I have is — I’m not saying anything derogatory — but when you’re dealing with the pressures of the presidency, we can’t have someone else that we question whether they’re mentally fit to do this. We can’t.”
Trump clarified his slip-up in a Saturday post to Truth Social.

“Nancy Pelosi was responsible for Security – She should not have turned down the 10,000 solders offered by President Trump days before January 6. Also, the January 6th Unselect Committee of political Hack and Thugs should not have DELETED AND DESTROYED the Evidence and Findings of their Committee. What they did is illegal- A CRIME!!!” Trump wrote.
The suddenly flailing Haley who for the first time in her campaign has been facing scrutiny can hardly be blamed for jumping on her formidable opponent’s verbal flubs and her criticism of Trump greatly pleases Democrats who are already her biggest supporters.
While it’s more than a bit hypocritical for the Biden campaign to focus on questions about their opponent’s mental fitness considering the geriatric Democrat’s own extensive highlight reel of senior moments, gaffes and mental misfires, they’ll take what they can get at this stage.
The establishment’s pick for the GOP nomination, Haley has suffered a series of setbacks over the last several days, not the least of which was her third-place finish in Iowa despite the hype and a failure to win in New Hampshire where she has the governor in her pocket would be a monumental blow to her candidacy.
