President Donald Trump is making no apologies after Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni refuted his claims.
It started at G7 meetings in Evian-les-Bains, France, when the president revealed to an Italian journalist that Meloni “wanted a picture with me so badly,” adding that he “felt sorry for her.”
“I do not know why the president of the United States behaves this way toward his allies — it is certainly not the first time this has happened,” she said in a statement. Meloni added that she was “frankly stunned” by the claim and accused Trump of making it up.
“Neither I nor Italy ever beg,” she said.
For better or worse, the president isn’t one to back down from what he’s said. On Saturday, he doubled down in a Truth Social post.

I was completely shocked when Meloni acted that way especially since she seemed to be a reasonable leader.
It just goes to show you who out friends really are these days and they aren’t any of the European counties in G7.
