Not April Fools: NFL team slammed for promoting Arab American Heritage Month

The Minnesota Vikings were dropped for a loss by social media users who reacted to the NFL team’s salute to Arab American Heritage Month, pure virtue signaling that has absolutely nothing to do with football.

In a Wednesday post to X featuring an image of the scowling Scandinavian mascot on a background with the traditional purple and gold colors, the team wished its fans a “Happy Arab American Heritage Month.”

“Honoring the culture, history, and contributions of Arab American communities,” the organization wrote.

While it doesn’t get the attention of Black History Month, Women’s History Month, or Pride Month, Arab American Heritage Month is of great importance to the demographic that it celebrates, and it’s appropriate that the NFL franchise that plays its home games in Minneapolis, aka Little Mogadishu, would honor it.

The once-pristine midwestern city is now the home to a large Muslim community, which is represented by controversial Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and recently made headlines for the rampant “industrial scale” fraud involving members of the Somalian diaspora who fleeced taxpayers out of billions of dollars.

And no, it wasn’t an April Fool’s Day joke.

The post was met by backlash from fans on X who threw the organization for a loss.

In 2022, then-President Joe Biden declared April as Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM), rewarding years of lobbying from Arab American organizations.

“The history and story of the Arab American community is deeply woven into the diverse tapestry of America. This National Arab American Heritage Month, I thank the community for all that you have done to help move us forward and for representing the best of who we are,” the geriatric Democrat wrote on social media at the time.

The Vikings may be running up the score when it comes to pushing divisive “woke” politics, but are struggling with mediocrity on the field, posting a 9-8 record last season and missing the playoffs while watching castoff former QB Sam Darnold hoist the Super Bowl trophy for the Seattle Seahawks.
