Now THIS is weird: Potential Harris VP pick has ‘creepy’ similarity to Barack Obama

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has a “creepy” cadence far too similar to that of former President Barack Obama, critics say.

Shapiro, who’s most likely going to be selected as presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ running mate, sounds just like Obama at times.

Even “The Daily Show,” a bastion of far-left “comedy,” has noticed.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama asked him [Shapiro] for his birth certificate,” the show’s latest host, Ronny Chieng, quipped during a recent episode.

Listen:

But not everybody on the left thinks it’s funny.

“It’s creepy,” one Democrat Party operative said to the New York Post, commenting on Shapiro’s cadence.

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich thinks the cadence may be on purpose.

“He’s probably . . . TIVOing Obama speeches and trying to get all the mannerisms down,” he told the Post. “It seems to me like an intentional impersonation.”

“It reminds a lot of how I copy Elvis when I sing ‘Jailhouse Rock,’ which I did in prison in my band G-Rod and the Jailhouse Rockers,” he added, referencing the prison sentence he served after he tried to sell Obama’s former Senate seat.

Carnegie Mellon University professor Rita Singh, an expert in human voices, disagrees.

“It is likely that the voices of Josh Shapiro and former President Obama sound similar . . . specifically because of multiple similarities between the two gentlemen’s physical and vocal tract characteristics,” she told the Post.

Maybe.

Shapiro commented on the similarities when asked Friday about Republican vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance’s insistence that “if I really tried to do a bad impression of Barack Obama, that’s what it would sound like.”

“Barack Obama was probably our most gifted orator of my time, so that’s kind of a weird insult,” Shapiro responded.

Many would say Obama was also the biggest liar, demagogue, and conman who ever served as president, so there’s that.

Some leftists, for their part, are now in love with Shapiro for sounding just like their former dear leader:

But there has been some criticism too, with a number of critics accusing the potential VP pick of being “fake” and committing “cultural appropriation.”

Look:

There is, however, one giant difference between Shapiro and Obama — Shapiro is a Jew, and many Democrats do not like that. Indeed, a whole movement has emerged pushing back on Shapiro as a potential VP pick, largely because he’s a Jew.

No Genocide Josh, one group pushing against his potential appointment, is especially upset because he once described the Palestinians as essentially hateful people incapable of living peacefully with the Jews.
