NPR caught in a new liberal fever dream about missing Epstein files linking to Trump

Democrats and their media allies are fired up over a “bombshell” NPR report seemingly implicating President Donald Trump, but the problem is that the report is, as usual, bupkis.

Published earlier this week, the NPR report breathlessly claims that when the Department of Justice (DOJ) released the Epstein files, they withheld a few pages containing “allegations that President Trump sexually abused a minor.”

“Some files have not been made public despite a law mandating their release,” the report reads. “These include what appear to be more than 50 pages of FBI interviews, as well as notes from conversations with a woman who accused Trump of sexual abuse decades ago when she was a minor.”

The insane left is now in an uproar over this report:

“Oversight Democrats can confirm that the DOJ appears to have illegally withheld FBI interviews with this survivor who accused President Trump of heinous crimes,” House Oversight Committee ranking member Rep. Robert Garcia said in a statement.

But it’s all phony bologna, and the evidence lies near the bottom of the NPR report that Democrats have been feverish over.

What’s true is that records of an FBI interview with a woman who alleged that Epstein had introduced her to Trump when she was 13 were indeed missing from the tranche of documents released publicly.

But what’s also true is that, according to the DOJ, the records were held back because of a request from the woman and her attorney!

Another missing record, meanwhile, is from an interview with a woman who was abused by Epstein as a child. When identifying her abuser to the authorities, she showed them a cropped photo of her abuser. The person missing from the cropped photo was reportedly Trump.

Here’s the catch: The woman readily admitted to having purposefully used the cropped version because she “was concerned about implicating additional individuals.”

So she removed Trump from the photo precisely to make sure he wasn’t incorrectly implicated with her actual abuser.

The next missing record is from a woman who never even mentioned Trump. Instead she at one time sued Epstein, who’s now deceased, but later voluntarily retracted her suit and claims in 2021.

The last missing record is from a woman who did indeed accuse Trump of abusing her when she was young — but who ultimately refused to cooperate with the authorities, making her claim meaningless.

Speaking with NPR, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson was quick to note that all the so-called “evidence” scooped up by NPR was a big, fat nothingburger.

“Just as President Trump has said, he’s been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein,” Jackson noted. “And by releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena request, signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and calling for more investigations into Epstein’s Democrat friends, President Trump has done more for Epstein’s victims than anyone before him.”

“Meanwhile, Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries and Stacey Plaskett have yet to explain why they were soliciting money and meetings from Epstein after he was a convicted sex offender,” she added.

Other critics also assailed the network:
