NYC hotel employees reportedly endure mistreatment from migrants as place becomes a drug-infested ‘free-for-all’

About a month ago, a whistleblower who works in housekeeping at the four-star, $500/night Row NYC hotel in New York City claimed that the asylum-seeking migrants being housed there were behaving like animals.

Speaking on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” this Tuesday, that same whistleblower offered a horrifying update about the “total chaos” now plaguing the hotel, which has since become a “free-for-all” of sex, drugs, and violence.

“There’s no accountability. The city’s so-called running the program [and] allows these people to destroy these rooms. There is no daily supervision to show these people that… you don’t destroy your hotel. You are only there temporarily. This is not your home,” hotel worker Felipe Rodriguez said.

“Unfortunately, the ones that are paying the price is the hotel workers, Local 6 union workers. Those guys and those ladies endure a lot of disrespect from the migrants, and there [are] some nice migrants, but there’s too much alcohol, too much drugs and too much violence, and you have teenagers… going into the staircases and making out like it’s lovers lane… This is a free-for-all,” he added.

Rodriguez also pointed to a total lack of gratitude from the migrants.

“Their self-entitlement is beyond belief. They believe that… the hotel is theirs, and they’re going to do what will what they want, and our general manager really don’t care about any of the workers’ toxic conditions or hostile conditions. All he cares about is the money,” he said.

The money is specifically being paid by the city to house the migrants at the hotel. Rodriguez previously said last month that he believes the hotel’s owners are purposefully letting the migrants run free because the cost of later renovating the place is lower than the money they’re earning for housing the migrants.

According to Fox News, the city is paying $650,000 per night total to house the migrants at Row NYC. Keep in mind this is the cost for just the Row. Migrants are being housed at other hotels as well.

There are reportedly an estimated 38,000 migrants in the NYC area at the moment, with an estimated 26,000 residing for free in the Big Apple’s many luxurious hotels.

Rodriguez already went viral last month when he told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham that the migrants were “drinking all day,” “smoking marijuana,” “consuming drugs,” “having sex in the stairs,” “hoarding whatever,” “spreading all type of illnesses,” and even sometimes engaging in “domestic violence.”

He also said the migrants were throwing away the quality food that was being given to them and, instead, illegally cooking their own food in their rooms.

“It’s every day you’ll find someone cooking. You can smell the eggs and rice that they’re making. They burned the carpets with the hot plates,” another housekeeping employee told local station WABC at the time.

Also speaking with WABC, Rodriguez added, “If those hot plates catch on fire, the whole place will go down in flames.”

As noted earlier, migrants are also being housed at other hotels, including The Watson Hotel. Or rather, they were being housed at The Watson.

Recently the city decided to relocate the single men migrants at The Watson to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook, which has been converted into a shelter.

The problem is the men refused to budge and have instead decided to camp out in front of the hotel in protest.

“Some of the migrants and activists say the conditions are uninhabitable at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. They say that it’s cold and there aren’t enough bathrooms, that it’s isolated, and that they don’t like the congregate setting,” according to WABC.

“Very basic beds, head to foot, no space in between them, there’s four bathrooms in the entire facility for a thousand beds. They’ve described that there’s only food during limited hours and that sometimes the water runs out – and importantly, also, it’s cold in there,” one migrant complained to local station WNBC.

The city staunchly disagrees.

“I just had to come here when I started hearing all the rumors about it was too cold. My brother has got on shorts. It’s warm inside. About the food not being there, you know healthy food is present,” Mayor Eric Adams said after visiting the shelter himself Tuesday.

Meanwhile, local residents are getting fed up.

“I am paying $2,000 a month to witness this. I have kids in school. This is ridiculous,” a nearby resident told the Daily Mail, adding that some of the migrants who’ve been camping outside the hotel have been smoking cigarettes and marijuana.

“No information was given to the neighborhood prior to this happening. They were just dropped here. I don’t mind helping migrants, but I do mind helping migrants that are undocumented — which we are paying for per night, per room. Really, how much is it?” another nearby resident said.

A third nearby resident, a 61-year-old woman who’s lived in the area since 1979, expressed resentment over the city spending all this money to house migrants but doing nothing to help her disabled son, who reportedly has a feeding tube.

“The migrants are taking away from us. It’s a pie and now you are giving outsiders what my son deserves as a disabled person. That is not acceptable,” she said.
