Outgoing New York City Mayor Eric Adams opened up about the lawfare that he was subjected to during the Biden administration, an un-American weaponizing of the legal system against the regime’s political enemies.
Adams, whose term expires on Wednesday, appeared on Monday’s edition of “The Story” on Fox News, where he was asked about the Justice Department’s abuses during the tenure of the disgraced former president which, while primarily directed at President Donald J. Trump and his supporters, was also turned on him after his criticism of Biden’s policies on illegal immigration.
“I think what we have witnessed under President Biden’s Justice Department, Americans should never have to live through that again,” the New York City Democrat told guest host Trace Gallagher.

“You saw everyday Americans who fought for the education of their children being put on watch lists. I think that you saw what happened with Charlie Kirk; when you saw the raiding of President Trump’s home. Debates should have happened … I think that you’re seeing the clear indication that the Justice Department under the previous administration used lawfare to go after those who disagree with them,” Adams added.
When asked if he was outraged about the weaponizing of the DOJ under Biden before he ended up in the crosshairs, Adams told Gallagher that “personal experience allows us to see firsthand the abuse.”
“I spent my entire life, not only as a police officer, but as a state senator and borough president fighting against injustices,” he said. “There’s a real history, a rich history, of me standing up and fighting what the criminal justice system should never be. Yes, that anger was there long before I was a target, but what I saw happen while I was the mayor is really deplorable, and we saw what happened to President Trump’s family as well.”
“If you were to go back and look at my life story on criminal justice reform and not abuse, it goes back to being a young man who was abused at the hands of law enforcement,” hizzoner continued. “And so I’ve always been a clear voice, and it really personalized it of what I was fighting for years because I experienced the lawfare myself.”
Biden and his political apparatchiks at the DOJ soured on Adams after the Gotham mayor spoke out against the hordes of illegal aliens that were ending up in his city, where they were given the royal treatment with free lodging at luxury hotels while draining precious resources from actual citizens in need.
He was hit with federal corruption charges after the regime turned a cold shoulder on him, indicting Adams on federal charges related to bribery, wire fraud, and the acceptance of illegal foreign campaign contributions. Adams was indicted in September 2024 and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Adams believes that the charges were politically motivated after he spoke out against Biden’s handling of the illegal alien crisis.
The charges were dropped after the Trump administration took over.
The mayor’s term will officially end on December 31, and after the big ball drops in Times Square, Mayor Zohran Mamdani will officially begin his new term.
