NYC plans to pass out flyers to migrants telling them to go to a different city

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ administration is turning to information warfare to combat the migrant crisis and will pass out flyers to encourage them to go elsewhere.

The ongoing flooding of the Big Apple with illegal aliens has had city officials doing some serious brainstorming on how to stop the invasion with one idea being to discourage new arrivals from seeking refuge in the Democrat-run sanctuary city by distributing the literature at local shelters and other locations across the country as well as at the southern border.

At an asylum seeker response briefing this week, Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Anne Williams-Isom showed off the flyers to be distributed “to combat misinformation at the border and in cities across the country where people are coming to New York City from.”

“We want people to know what New York City is able to provide and what New York City isn’t able to provide any longer,” she said.

“In the coming days, we will be distributing these flyers at our shelters and intake centers in New York City as well as through NGOs and nonprofits across the country,” Williams-Isom added.

“Here in our shelters, because we know that there are people in our shelters who are telling their family members to come to New York City and that they’ll get housing and that they’ll be able to stay with them, that is no…that has never been the case, but we want to make sure that we’re being clear with people that New York City is out of space. We’ll also share this with other municipalities at the border and across the country,” she said.

The flyers state that the city’s resources are exhausted and that the new arrivals should no longer expect to be put up in hotels as well as informing them that Gotham is one of the “most expensive cities in the world” and that migrants would be better off seeking a cheaper place to live.

“NYC cannot help you obtain a work permit, and you will not be able to easily find work,” the flyers also state.

It only took busing some migrants to their cities to give previously sanctimonious leftists an attitude adjustment from championing open borders to going full NIMBY.

“We have been welcoming. We have been gracious. We have been supportive. But we have to point out the fact and make sure that people coming across the border who think there are plentiful hotel rooms and services in New York City, we hit our capacity,” Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul said during an appearance on CNN.

“So we’re asking other areas to embrace these individuals but we’re not going to compromise who we area as a state with the Statue of Liberty in our harbor,” she added. “So that’s what I want to be clear about. That’s important, we’ll retain that but we just need a slowing right now to help us manage the people who’ve already come and let people know it’s not the way it was a year ago. We’re at capacity.”
