NYC thug charged in brutal assault on unsuspecting man at Brooklyn mall

The young man widely described as a “thug” after sucker-punching a fellow New Yorker, knocking the man out cold, has been charged with the crime.

Jaheim David, 21, has been charged with assault for the unprovoked brutal attack that took place Saturday at the Kings Plaza Mall in Brooklyn, according to the Daily Mail. The real question being, how long before the criminal-friendly municipal justice system releases him.

Turns out, David turned himself in, though he is clearly seen in surveillance footage released by the New York Police Department walking up on the unsuspecting 36-year-old victim and landing a hard blow to the side of the man’s head.

Accompanied by another man, David is seen wearing black basketball shorts and walking away after landing the sucker punch only to briefly return to apparently ensure he was successful in taking the victim out.

To make matters worse, a security guard seemingly ignores the unconscious man lying on the floor as he walked in the direction of where the suspects fled. Bystanders did little to help the man, though one woman could be seen moving the victim’s belongings closer to his body.

Police say the victim did not know his attackers and did not speak to them prior to the altercation. The man suffered “serious physical injury,” according to authorities, and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition before being released later.

As for David, he appears to have warmed up for the brave feat by practicing on his girlfriend.

Police said the suspect was previously arrested for domestic violence on June 24 for allegedly punching his 20-year-old girlfriend in the face, cutting her lip, according to the Daily Mail.

Mall security video also captured David getting out of a vehicle to manually raise a security barrier at a nearby parking garage so the car could exit without paying.
