Another overseas trip for Gotham’s first lady didn’t raise concerns for her, but rather for the boys in blue she was dragging to the Middle East to “be viewed as the bad guys.”
Like Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I) Soviet honeymoon, radicals have no qualms about showing their true colors — including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s (D) wife, Rama Duwaji. Having already spent Independence Day on a retreat harkening back to days of Muslim conquest, the socialist’s spouse with a history of antisemitic views is reportedly planning a trip to Syria and Lebanon with a personal security detail comprised of taxpayer-funded New York City Police Department officers.
Confirmed to the New York Post by the mayor’s office, spokesperson Dora Pekec told the newspaper, “Upon the strong recommendation of the NYPD, the First Lady’s security detail will be joining her when she travels to visit family in Syria and Lebanon.”
Both nations are currently listed on the Department of State’s “Do Not Travel” list. In particular, the State Department makes clear that the U.S. Embassy is suspended in Syria and the government is unable to provide emergency or even routine services to U.S. citizens. Instead, they must rely on the Czech Embassy in Damascus.
“The mayor’s office offered no further comment on the trip’s details or whether the purpose was solely to visit family,” detailed the Post as a source expressed, “It’s not official business. It’s not doing anything for the city.”
Speaking with the paper, former state assemblyman and founder of Americans Against Antisemitism Dov Hikind argued Duwaji will be endangering the cops, “We’re putting the police officers in danger. They will be viewed as the bad guys. These are war zones.”
“Duwaji doesn’t need security. She will get a hero’s welcome and be protected by Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis,” he went on.
Duwaji’s last overseas trip took place over Independence Day weekend as she co-hosted a retreat in Spain and a subsequent event in France run by The Women’s Sanctuary. The stated intent was to gather “to reclaim our history and pay tribute to the Women of Al-Andalus,” using the name for Spain under control of Islam. Weeks later, thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens poured over over the border from Morocco into Spain’s autonomous city Ceuta, many of whom the nation has since distributed throughout the country.
The September 20 departure for the Middle East coincides with the annual United Nations week when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to make his next visit to New York City, his first since the arrest-threatening Mamdani has occupied City Hall.
Risks abroad aren’t the only danger facing NYPD’s finest as Hizzoner’s encouragement for keffiyeh-clad Hamas sympathizers to “take to the streets” has reportedly presented a “security nightmare” for when the dignitary arrives from Israel.
“Basically, he’s making what would be considered a Category 1 hurricane that we deal with every year into a Category 5 because of his words,” one source told the Post.
“Having the mayor say, ‘Go ahead and protest, and he should be arrested’ … is unfair to your own cops,” added the source.
