Despite an ongoing lawsuit, the latest report about late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein featured the alleged Trump-signed birthday letter, further fueling Democrats’ “cherry-picking.”
As the American people demand transparency and partisans play hot potato with claims of culpability, corporate media soldiers on with “FAKE NEWS” assaults on President Donald Trump. Monday, this included a report from the Wall Street Journal that opened with the publication of the 2003 birthday missive to Epstein of questionable authenticity, while other details of the trove of documents received by Congress were treated as afterthoughts.
After starting with the image of the letter, framed with the outline of a woman, of which the newspaper described the signature as a “squiggly ‘Donald’ below the waist, mimicking pubic hair,” the Journal made note of Trump’s lawsuit against its parent company and reporters before detailing that lawyers for Epstein’s estate had provided Congress with the birthday book in response to a subpoena for documents.

While the initial report stated that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt “didn’t immediately respond Monday to a request for comment,” the outlet’s story did include a portion of her post to X denying the veracity of the bawdy birthday message.
Not included was Leavitt challenging the journalistic practices of Joe Palazzolo, whom she claimed sought comment at the same time the “hatchet job” was published.
“The latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal PROVES this entire ‘Birthday Card’ story is false. As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. President Trump’s legal team will continue to aggressively pursue litigation,” wrote the Trump administration spokeswoman. “Furthermore, the ‘reporter’ @joe_palazzolo who wrote this hatchet job reached out for comment at the EXACT same minute he published his story giving us no time to respond. This is FAKE NEWS to perpetuate the Democrat Epstein Hoax!”

Democrats were similarly shamed as the House Oversight Committee’s ranking member, California Rep. Robert Garcia, was quoted by the Journal as contending, “President Trump called the Epstein investigation a hoax and claimed that his birthday note didn’t exist. Now we know that Donald Trump was lying and is doing everything he can to cover up the truth. Enough of the games and lies, release the full files now.”
Meanwhile, as the book compiled by associate Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s 50th birthday included a message from former President Bill Clinton — among other figures — who praised the sex offender’s “childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference, and the [illegible] of friends,” Kentucky Rep. James Comer (R), chair of the Oversight Committee, slammed his peers across the aisle for their partisan impulses.
“It’s appalling Democrats on the Oversight Committee are cherry-picking documents and politicizing information received from the Epstein Estate today,” said Comer in a post on X that linked to the committee’s release of the documents received from Epstein’s estate.
The lawmaker went on to state, “President Trump is not accused of any wrongdoing and Democrats are ignoring the new information the Committee received today. The Committee will pursue additional Epstein bank records based on this new information. Democrats have to decide if their priority is justice for the victims or politics.”

Other entries in the book included lewd images as well as pictures of scantily clad women, with one particular photo captioned, “Visiting you down in Palm Beach. Can’t get a second of privacy with you and a camera around ha ha!”
