U.S. Coast Guard personnel were forced to open fire on a U-Haul truck after its driver attempted to back into the gate entrance of the California base.
The box truck was captured on video trying to force its way onto Coast Guard Base Alameda following a protest outside the entrance on Thursday, where demonstrators tried to block U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents from entering the base, Fox News reported.
The driver ignored commands to stop and gunfire erupted from those manning the entrance. Having second thoughts about the idea, the U-Haul driver quickly accelerated forward.

The Coast Guard said the person behind the wheel of the U-Haul truck was “driving erratically and attempting to back into the base.”
“When the vehicle’s actions posed a direct threat to the safety of Coast Guard and security personnel, law enforcement officers discharged several rounds of live fire,” the agency said in a statement.
Two men reportedly showed up at local hospitals for gunshot wounds after the shooting, with one of them believed to be the driver of the U-Haul, according to Mercury News.
With Democrats showing no signs of relenting with their reckless rhetoric they direct toward ICE agents, who they compare to Nazis and call the Gestapo, the anti-ICE sentiment in America continues to ramp up. It’s likely just a matter of time before one of those tasked with enforcing U.S. immigration laws will be seriously harmed or killed.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
This is what happens when these wannabe revolutionaries think they can play bumper cars with federal installations. You roll a damn U-Haul into a Coast Guard base after ignoring commands, you’re not a protester, you’re a direct threat, and you’re about to meet the business end of…

The insurrectionists are now using vehicles in their attacks. “A U-Haul driver ignored SEVERAL commands to STOP.”
These officers had NO CHOICE but top open fire on the truck.

HOLY SHlT! Security officials at a California Coast Guard base had to UNLOAD their firearms on a U-Haul vehicle that was attempting to RAM officers and their vehicles.
This is what happens when Democrat officials are fueling these EXTREME acts of violence.
It MUST STOP! pic.twitter.com/qqOvE4AKvY
