‘Other than that…’: POTUS offers a very Trump-like update on how Iran is faring

Apologies from Iran didn’t cut it as the president’s latest update on the Middle East indicated next steps put other “areas and groups” at risk for “complete destruction and certain death.”

In the case of both 2025’s Operation Midnight Hammer and the current Operation Epic Fury, President Donald Trump made clear his objective to eliminate the nuclear threat posed by Iran and, in the case of the latter, crush the Islamic regime that has been oppressing and slaughtering its own people.

Following details on Friday about the impact strikes have had on Iran’s military capabilities and more, the commander-in-chief took to Truth Social Saturday morning to report that an apology from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was only possible “because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack.”

“Iran, which is being beat to HELL, has apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore,” began the update. “This promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack. They were looking to take over and rule the Middle East. It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries.”

“They have said, ‘Thank you President Trump.’ I have said, ‘You’re welcome!’ Iran is no longer the ‘Bully of the Middle East,’ they are, instead, ‘THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST,’ and will be for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse!” he went on.

Demonstrating that Pezeshkian and other political leaders were either saying one thing and doing another or lacked control of the Islamic regime’s military, even as the apology was being issued, strikes from Iran targeted Dubai International Airport, a Saudi oil facility and a location in the Kingdom of Bahrain, according to the Associated Press.

“I should apologize to the neighboring countries that were attacked by Iran, on my own behalf. From now on, they should not attack neighboring countries or fire missiles at them, unless we are attacked by those countries. I think we should solve this through diplomacy,” Pezeshkian said.

Meanwhile, as Iranian armed forces spokesman Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi contended, they had “not hit countries that did not provide space for America to invade our country,” a statement from Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi petitioned for the quick appointment of a new supreme leader to restore the power structure. “The timely realization of this important matter will lead to national authority and the best possible organization of affairs.

Trump had added in his statement, “Today Iran will be hit very hard! Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran’s bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time.”

That message came on the heels of remarks made Friday during a Saving College Sports roundtable, where he’d said, “By the way, Iran we’re doing very well. Somebody said, ‘How would you score it from 0-10?’ I said I’d give it a 12-15.”

“Their army is gone … Look, their navy is gone, their communications are gone, their leaders are gone — two set of their leaders are gone, they’re down to their third set — their air force is wiped out entirely. Think of it. They have 32 ships. All 32 are at the bottom of the ocean,” relayed the commander-in-chief, who snarked, “Other than that, they’re doing very well.”

Trump also said, “Our military is doing phenomenally. The situation with a very bad and very sick group of leaders who were killing a lot of people. A lot of our people were being killed or were being maimed … And we had a choice. We could take it and go on like that for years or do something about it. And we did something about it.”

Referencing the operation to arrest Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and last year’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the president stated, “I think we’re, right now, we’re a country that’s more respected than we’ve ever been respected before.”
